This will be presented in the form of a mock draft, but is not meant to be predictive. Rather, with each team we'll take a look at their needs, and who is likely to be available that they might covet. Not being an insider, all that I know is that Miami will pick Jake Long, since they have negotiated a contract with him already.

One of my favorite things about blogging is making predictions, then when they come true I can brag about them. If they don't come true, I can pretend they never occurred but still boast about the ones I got correct or nearly right. In the second part of MIZZOURAH's bold predictions, we predict the 2008 BCS Games, Heisman Winners, Surprise teams, and teams doomed to disappoint us. Below I will lay out my thought process for my choices for the BCS games and potential Heisman winners.

A lot of teams up north are only beginning their spring drills, but for Miami, Texas, Mississippi State, and Auburn, last weekend was finale for their 2008 spring campaigns with their spring scrimmages. For the most part these games are just glorified practices put on for us, the fans, as a way to drum up interest for the upcoming season. Rarely does a game like this tell anything about how the team will fair in the fall…but since it is the last day of March, and we haven't had football for almost two months, let's pretend like it matters.

Just when I thought things were calming down on the Rich Rodriguez front, more allegations against him are popping up. Just to get you up to speed; a few weeks ago when Rodriguez took the Michigan job, his former employer, West Virginia, filed suit against him for the 4 million dollar buyout in his contract. Well now news out of The Charleston Gazette suggests that not only is the University upset about the money, now they have come to realize that Rodriguez has either destroyed or took with him to Michigan all the files he has on the players for West Virginia.

...and name a succession plan. I bet many of you thought I was going to say step down, well I won't go that far just yet. Tomahawk Nation outlines some good and bad points from the recent release that will have Jumbo Fisher taking over for Bobby Bowden. That article got me thinking of another legend who is up there in age, and he should take some lessons from a fellow Hall of Famer.

As most of us know, the most prestigious award in college football, the Heisman Trophy, will be handed out on Saturday. Now I ask the readers of In The Bleachers to leave me their ballot, and reasoning if you so choose, in the comment section.

While everyone is complaining how the BCS as a whole is not working; and how college football needs to move more toward a playoff, I think there is some other issues inside the BCS that need addressed. First and foremost, the coaches should not be allowed to have a say in who gets to play in the BCS Games.

The Detroit Free Press and Pittsburgh Post Gazette are both reporting that Lloyd Carr's Michigan Wolverines used a player that was academically ineligible in each of their first four games. Since this is a Big Ten eligibility rule, the Wolverines might have to forfeit their 14-9 victory over Penn State in each team's Big Ten opener.

The Big East, coming off a 5-0 bowl record, will open up the 2007 season with each of its eight teams in action this week. Sadly, the marquee matchups of the week are Syracuse and UConn, two of the team's bottomfeeders over the past two seasons, battling fellow BCS bottomfeeders Washington and Duke. Three teams will do "battle" with sub-D1A teams, while three other Big East squads will face teams from the MAC. UConn will be the only BE team opening the season on the road, as they travel to Durham to play Duke.

In 2007 the Big East should again be dominated by West Virginia and Louisville, with the rest of the conference looking up at those two powerhouses. Rutgers and South Florida could play a factor in who wins the Big East, but I do not see it being either of them. Here are my predictions for the end result of the Big East for the 2007 season in order of finish with the overall record in parentheses.

Every year we come into the season wondering which coaches will not be around for the following season. A few lucky coaches get that big win against their rival at the end of the year to save their job for the next. Looking ahead, these are the 5 coaches that I think need to win now or they will not be around coaching their respective teams come 2008.

The Fighting Irish has gone to BCS bowl games in each of the past two seasons. Some experts say they shouldn't have gone to either game because they did not deserve it. Well I am here to tell everyone 5 reasons why Notre Dame will not play in a BCS game in 2007-08.
