Crazy

Is there anyone else out there that thinks this fantasy thing has gone a bit too far. You cant predict who will win a game. Math cant tell you who will win a baseball game.

LOL!!

What I think is funny about this article is that half of the pitchers, on this list of players teams wished they didnt have, are head and shoulders over the Colorado Rockies pitching. Example: Livan Hernandez. Dont post an article like that until your team can back it up!

Huge Sleeper

The most underrated closer in the N.L is going to be a huge sleeper. When Jose Valverde is consistant, he is the best in the N.L by far. Past mental breakdowns have troubled his consistancy, but he regained his composure last year, unfortunatly in September. Look for Jose Valverde, if he stays consistant to rack up 35+ saves for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Check Out this new Arizona Diamondbacks blogger.

Best in the West!

The talent developing year of 2006 was a year that was needed to develop some of the younger 2007 starters. We were already built into a slump and this was a perfect time to get in some at-bats for the prospects. Well, it didn't work out that way and several of those prospects matched and often out-played a lot of the big leagures and showed great potential. But when you stop to think about how many games the Arizona Diamondbacks won on Brando Webb's (and the minescule offense coming from guys like Green, Gonzo, and Tracy) shoulders its amazing how many games the dbacks won. Livan Hernandez came in way too late to do anything and he carried over a little of the frustration to the dbacks. Now picture Brando Webb having a little help. With a Randy Johnson who comes back to his 2004 form and completely dominates. Its not out of the question considering he will be feeling way better and he wont be booed every time he throws a ball( thanks New York). Plus Webb will have the backup of Hernandez and Davis, 2 guys who last year would have both been able to be no 2 starters in almost any team in the league. What if the offense also comes out of its shell and Tracy returns without the shoulder problems and lives up to his 35+ home run potential. The possibilities endless when you have a team as talented as the 2007 Arizona Diamondbacks!

D backs made good deal!

All of you Yankee fans are living in denial. You guys got Luis Vizciano and a couple of prospects and we got a probable 15 game winner. Oh sure Alberto Gonzalez can play good defense, but with Jeter and Cano he is blocked off for a very long time. Cashman does not have a good eye for prospects, never has. To make it even better the Yankees are paying us to take a 17 game winner off of their hands. Reportedly he is also expected to be in better health quarter way through the season, then he was all of last year. The Diamondbacks just stole a potential 15 game 200 strikeout pitcher. Thanks Yankees!

Best ever rotation for Arizona?

As you probably have heard, the Arizona Diamondbacks are extremely close to landing Randy Johnson. This would give them a huge advantage in the NL West. He played all of last year with a bad back which any pitcher can tell you that the back is where a pitcher gets all of his torque from which results in speed and accuracy. If his back recovers nicely, with him being away from the pressure of the Yankees, and the act that his house is just 14 miles from chase field will ease the pressure amazingly. He might be heading for a great year. Now the question raises, will this be the best Arizona rotation ever? Maybe. You look at the classic front end of the rotation Johnson and Schilling. Webb can be argued to be better than Schilling. Plus you got to look at the support behind those guys, if Livan Hernandez and Doug Davis have good years, the back end of the rotation will be 10 times better then there past end of the rotation starters. So the answer is maybe.

Extremely cautious!

What I really dont get is the fact that the dbacks arent making any moves. When Josh Byrnes says he wants to keep his young outfield prospects. Thats fine, but when there are 3 outfield spots and 2 of them are potentially blocked for the next 5 years with Chris Young and Carlos Quentin. So why the heck do we need 15 outfield prospects. And we already have 3 guaranteed pitchers in the roatation which includes Brandon Webb, so why the heck do we need 10 prospect pitchers? With all of the prospects the dbacks have they should be one of the most agressive trading teams out there right now, not the least aggressive.

Why so cautious?

I think the d backs are being way to cautious about free agent Mark Mulder. He used to be one of the premier pitchers in the game. In all of his healthy seasons (besides his rookie year) he has had at least 15 wins or more. He is also progressing rapidly with rehab. If he is signed why not make him a number 3 starter, bump everybody down one spot, and trade some of their hitting and pitching prospects like Nippert, Callaspo, and Edgar Gonzalez for another top notch pitcher to follow behind Webb. Why do they want to leave one final spot up to a young pitcher. They tried that at the end of last year and none of them looked very good. They could trade for a number of top notch pitchers like Jake Westbrook, Freddy Garcia, or Felix Hernandez. As far as im concerned, the Arizona Diamondbacks should be one of the more active team in the winter meetings with plenty of prospects to dangle ( besides Young, Quentin, or Drew).

Great deal for dbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks latest deal was great. Doug Davis is a good starter who will eat innings, and Dana Evelend is a good pitcher who I think will work best as a power reliever. With a high 90's fastball, he will have somthing the bullpen lacked last season, velocity. With the exception of Julio and Vaverde.

New Uniforms Rock!

The Arizona Diamondback's new uniforms rock! It will be perfect for the new generation of d-backs coming up out of the farm system.

Let the unveiling begin!

The dbacks new uniforms will be shown tonight! Uniforms will go on sale Thursday!

Matsuzaka to Arizona?

This is a rumor that really makes you scratch your head. The d'backs have been annoucing that they only have about 10 million to spend in 06-07 offseason. Then why whould they potentially waste all of that money on 1 player who is going to command a high price. If the d'backs want to win they are going to have to get multiple high quality pitchers in the rotation. Just Webb, Hernandez, and Matsuzaka wouldnt be able to do it. They should target guys they can get cheaply like Mark Mulder and make a trade like for Dontrelle Willis.

Get out of the way, there is a D-train comin!

Joel Sherman has just posted an article about the d-backs sending away Chris Young and Miguel Montero to the marlins for Dontrelle Willis. This would be a great move that would sure up the rotation for years to come but are they giving away too much. Maybe yes, I agree with Joel the d backs would be much better suited if they gave away Justin Upton because the outfield and shortstop seem to be well locked. What do you think?

Catching situation good or weak?

The Arizona Diamondbacks are most likely going to dump Johnny Estrada. Who apparently had a bit of an argument with some of the dbacks coaches. Well what are we left with? Well some people would argue that we have a pretty good catcher in Chris Snyder, well he may have had a fair season batting .277 and hitting 6 homers in 184 at- bats, but remember what happened last time we left the fate of our catching role up to Chris Snyder. 2005 ring any bells? And some other people would argue, well we have Miguel Montero, well other than he has only had 16 major league at bats and is very in expierenced, should we leave the fate of the very important catcher's role up to these guys? Maybe we should go get a veterin guy instead of these guys.

Dont even think about it!

This is the craziest dbacks rumor I have ever heard, do they just let anybody into pro sports daily? There apparently is a rumor out there that since the dbacks are dumping Johnny Estrada they should go after Mike Piazza. Please dont tell me this is true.
