Okay so let me start by saying I am pretty damn excited about this upcoming Eagles season. There's one issue that actually concerns me a bit, maybe more than getting a #1 receiver because personally I don't think we really, really need one. Now
David Akers has been a terrific K for the Eagles for many years and I'm not throwing him under the bus. Buuuut he has shown some decline the last few years. Granted in the last 3 years he is perfect on XP. But as far as FG he hasn't kicked above 80% since the 2004 season. 2004 he was 84.4% on FG. Since then for 05', 06' and 07' he has kicked a mediocre 72.7, 78.3 and 75.0 respectively. His long kick of 07' was a respectable 53 yards, with a 47 and a 50 the two years prior. I don't want to jump to any conclusions but I do feel like Akers has lost alot of his 'elite' Kicker status. And while K is not an exciting position it is important nonetheless. Thoughts?
