Tell me if these stats are All-Star worthy... Mystery Player: .289 AVG 15 HR 49 RBIs .326 OBP .500 SLG Now lets take a look at starting outfielder Manny Ramirez .281 AVG 16HR 54 RBIs .379 OBP .494 SLG Both players are almost statistical mirror images of each other, with one major difference. Since March/April, Manny's batting average each month has been a roller coaster. We've seen his month by month average drop from .344 in the begining of the season plummet to .200 in July. Manny sure isn't batting like Manny. Now heres my case for my mystery player. He began the season with an okay start. He batted only .272 in the months of March and April. But tore things up by batting .375 in the month of June and is currently batting .360 in July. At the very least this player should be on the AL Final Vote Ballot. This player is Angels outfielder
Vladimir Guerrero This will be the first time the 8-time all-star has missed the game since 2003 (injured back). His first all star game being in 1999. Now, I'm not going to begin to attack
Jason Varitek's election to the All-Star game. He has shown leadership and poise with the Red Sox and the players made their decision in voting for him. But all I hear about is
Jermaine Dye and
Evan Longoria battling it out for the last spot. All I have to say is that if a rookie who is batting .283 with 16 HR and 53 RBIs can get a spot on the final vote; shouldn't an 8-time All Star?
