Baron Davis will be taking the Boom Dizzle down from NorCal to SoCal as he will no longer sport his beard in the Yay Area, but instead in the City of Angels where no doubt his ability to drain buckets (and miss them like he was Stevie Wonder), drop the rock (bathroom humor not intended), and be a threat on the floor will no doubt thrill the fans at the Clip Joint!

Yeah, Marcus Camby is no longer a Denver Nugget, which absolutely makes no sense considering he was traded for an OPTION of a second round draft pick from the Los Angeles Clippers. Yes, Camby will be in the Clip Joint, but how happy will he be going from a playoff-caliber team to... the Clippers?!?!?!

Now that the NBA Salary Cap has been set for the 2008-09 season, many teams are now able to sign free agents, with Elton Brand, originally from New York, being target number one. Word has come out that the Philadelphia 76ers have received a verbal agreement from Brand to join the team for five years and about $80 million.

It has recently been confirmed that Alex Rodriguez's wife, Cynthia, hates him. Mrs. A-Rod took away A-Rod's "man card" the other day when she admitted to a New York Yankees television show that Rodriguez fainted during the birth of their first daughter, Natasha Alexander Rodriguez in November 2004. The show is to air tonight on the YES Network.

Okay, so this is going to totally sound wrong, but I truly believe that Rich Harden is way more of a tease that any and all Scarlett Johansson pictures. No, I've never gone out with either one of them, although I will admit to a sports man-crush on Harden and countless wicked and vulgar thoughts of Ms. Johansson, but being an Oakland A's fan, it's tough to see brilliance on the mound from Harden, only to then see him on the disabled list the next day! I mean, C'MON!

What in the world was Brewers manager Ned Yost thinking? His bizarre decision on Thursday to allow Yovani Gallardo to continue pitching after hyperextending his right knee in a bizarre play at first base might have cost his young pitcher the entire 2008 season, and maybe even the Brewers' playoff hopes, as an MRI exam yesterday morning confirmed that he suffered a complete tear of his ACL.

If you're like me, you love the ABC hit show, "Lost." Hopefully for you, all comparisons to me end there. In any case, I was writing an essay about baseball last Thursday night, but had to stop when "10:00" appeared on my cable box. I turned on "Lost, " punched the air in reaction to certain scenes, yelled at the television for showing too many commercials and took comfort in getting some answers for questions put forth in previous episodes. (Smoke monster!)

I find it interesting that there already have been 20 complete games so far this season, and wonder if this is the start of a trend, as most clubs just don't have the quality of middle relievers as they used to.

We all know that as a pitcher, Owings is pretty good, and that just might be an understatement, especially considering the first month of the season's pitching production - 4-0, 3.48 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, .195 BAA, and 28 Ks vs. 9 BBs in 31 IP. Owings is rolling right now. However, as good of a pitcher that he is, Owings is just as a good of a hitter, if not maybe even relatively better.

What is up with the guy? Give him $126 million over seven years and he proceeds to stink worse than the gym t-shirt I wore from freshman to senior year in high school WITHOUT washing it once! Okay, okay, since I've gotten married, my personal hygiene hasn't been all that bad, but honestly, I was trying to make a point - Barry Zito blows. For now...

I wonder how significant of an achievement this really is when you consider that guys like Gaylord Perry and Phil Niekro, who were not exactly flame throwers, are part of this club? And that it took 51 years for someone (in this case, Bob Gibson) to join Walter Johnson, with 14 more to follow in less time. Should this in any way diminish...
