Andrews Staying Away From Camp

The Eagles have confirmed that Pro Bowl right guard Shawn Andrews and his agent have told the team that Andrews will not be present for the start of the team's training camp for "personal reasons."

All of the team's players are due in for a 7 p.m. meeting on Thursday at Lehigh University. Andrews missed the final week of the team's June passing game for "personal reasons" as well.

Early reports indicated that Andrews was seeking an adjustment to his current contract, which runs through 2015, but neither Andrews nor the team has talked about the situation publicly. Andrews' agent, Rich Moran, told the Philadelphia Daily News that it is "100 percent wrong" to suggest that the absence is related to Andrews' contract, and that Andrews has talked to head coach Andy Reid today.

A first-round draft pick in 2004, Andrews earned an immedate starting position before suffering a broken fibula in the opening game against the Giants. He returned to start in 2005 and then made the Pro Bowl after both the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

Man Reggie got blasted on this hit when he was in college.

I know everyone wants a WR and I would like to see and upgrade as well, however we need to support our guys. I am anxious too, but damn yawl. I think we can really do something special with our current players. Let's at least show them we have their back!!!

WR---- BASKETT 6 foot 2-220 pounds--Ex-High Jumper. Needs to get out of FAT BOYS doghouse. I think he has a break-out year. Jason Avant has great hands and nice size should have a good year. Curtis will do what he does and may be in the slot if Baskett and Avant STEP UP!!!!!

It is obvious that both teams have players that are not happy. Lito does not want to be in Philly and Chad does not want to be in Cincy. The bengals need a CB and the eagles need a WR. This is a no brainer......both sides WIN and both players will be happy. I am just stating the obvious and not trying to start any rumors, so do not BITE my head off.

Warren Sapp certainly could have benefited from better timing. When the Oakland Raiders defensive tackle finalized his retirement on the same day that Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre was calling it quits, you knew whom the spotlight would favor.

Sapp's departure from the NFL generated little if any buzz. Favre's decision to walk out the door, on the other hand, created so many tremors around the league that you would have thought God had packed it in earlier this week.

The reality here is that Sapp's 13-year career is also worth putting into perspective. It's even more critical now because in a few years we'll be arguing about whether he belongs in the Hall of Fame. Sure, he was a dominant defensive lineman. But sensational talent and prolific productivity don't make you a lock for the Hall of Fame. If they did, then perennial Pro Bowlers such as Derrick Thomas and Cris Carter certainly would be enshrined by now.

The Philly front office needs to just give em the first and second round drafts picks........and get the deal done.....there is a lot of talent in the draft.....we have to get FITZ!!!!

Michael Vick's days as a minimum security inmate at a federal prison camp in Leavenworth, Kan., feature leather craft, ceramics and foosball. But, so far, they don't include the classes in a drug program that could result in his early release.

Vick is still waiting for admission into the federal prison system's Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP), according to a prison spokesperson. Unless he gets into that program, he will be locked up until at least June 2009. If he makes it into RDAP, he could be transferred into a halfway house (known in prison patois as a "community corrections center") as early as January. And, for Vick, that small step into a halfway house could be a giant leap back to the NFL.

Eagles should trade their First and Second round picks for Fitz.........See if they can make Lito happy and Keep him. If not trade Lito for D-hall straight up. I would love to see Lito stay but if he is gonna be a problem .......send him away for another top notch corner. Just a pipe dream I thought about......Living the DREAM
