I know they're everywhere. I think about it when I work, when I'm at the gym, and when I'm sleeping, (for the sake of this article, I'll pretend work and sleep are 2 different things). No, you won't find any bla bla bla'ing about Chad Johnson, or Roy Williams here(would I take either one, absolutely) but thats not why I'm here today. Anyway it's what's on everyones mind this time of year and yes, it's the draft. I must have gone through this a thousand times in my head, on paper, on my computer etc. Ive done so much amatuer "research" I should be in somebodys war room (its a joke you dont have to destroy me in the comments for THAT comment...;) But I've decided on my final tweaks and "last minute adjstments, and I present to you, my, Draft 08 with a little "explanation" if you will next to each pick. I hope you all enjoy and be sure to tell me what you think! If theres things you agree/disagree with let me know who you'd like your team to pick instead of mine! I would like everyone to know, that although I bleed green and the Eagles are my life, the NFL in general is my life and I appreciate/research all teams and players. I will be as fair and balanced as I can and show no disrespect towards ANY team (unless they deserve/ask for it ...:) I would like to hear ALL your opinions, regardless of team(NFC East fans more than welcome, yes including Cowboys fans!) and am truly interested in hearing who YOU want on YOUR team and what you think of my pics. ALL FANS WILL ALWAYS BE MORE THAN WELCOME TO COMMENT ANYTHING I POST, its just cmon guys, disagreeing and stating your opinions are fine thats what I want from ALL fans, but trashing posts and just being mean is not needed here, us fans are better and smarter than that. Lets get some good imout from ALL fans!! Thanks guys!! Less than 1 week and counting.....!!!
1.
Miami Dolphins: Jake Long, T, Michigan Absolute beast, safest pick in draft
2. St. Louis Rams:
Glenn Dorsey, DT, LSU Need D-line help, may go for C.Long here
3.
Atlanta Falcons:
Matt Ryan, QB, Boston College Falcons need a QB, look for this pick to be
traded if theyre not convinced
4.
Oakland Raiders: Chris Long, DE, Virginia If he's here, they wont pass, although I believe a
a bit too much hype and rather Gholston
5.
Kansas City Chiefs:
Vernon Gholston, DE, Ohio State Best pass rusher in draft, Chiefs need
all kinds of help, too much talent to pass
6.
New York Jets: Darren Mcfadden, RB, Arkansas Perfect fit for Jets, Arguabley best back in
draft, T. Jones has been a disapointment
7.
New England Patriots: Leodis Mckelvin, CB, Troy Fast, smart, cover corner who has added
value as a talented returner as well
8.
Baltimore Ravens: Brandon Albert, G/T, Virginia With Alberts stock sky rocketing, the Ravens
need young talent on the O-line and this guy
could make an immediate impact
9. Cincinatti Bengals:
Sedrick Ellis, DT, USC Beast of a DT who the Bengals will pounce
on if here at No. 9 for immediate help on D line
10.
New Orleans Saints:
Ryan Clady, OT, Boise St. Talented yet a bit raw the Saints can try to
mold into a franchise tackle in the NFL.
11.
Buffalo Bills:
Jeff Otah, OT, Pitt Could be swapped with previous pick, also a bit
raw but huge guy who has huge possibilities
12.
Denver Broncos: Chris Williams, OT, Vanderbilt Many experts say best OT in the draft, Big
guy who moves incredibly fast for his size,
perfect fit in Denvers zone blocking scheme
13.
Carolina Panthers:
Derrick Harvey, DE, Florida Carolina loves their pass- rushers and this is
exactly that. A speedy and dominant rusher,
could be a liability against run in NFL but theyll
take that chance, and so would most others
14.
Chicago Bears: Dominique Rodgers-Comrartie, CB Tenn State Great corner with lots of
raw talent who has great size and can also
be a threat in the return game
15.
Detroit Lions: Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Illinois Powerful and fast, some say better upside
than Mcfadden(not me) after releasing Kevin
Jones(where is he) theyll surely take if there
16.
Arizona Cardinals:
Phillip Merling, DE, Clemson Somewhat injury hampered throughout his col
career, when healthy he terrorizes O linemen
17.
Minnesota Vikings:
Keith Rivers, LB, USC Big, Powerful, Smart and a WINNER this guy
knows how to win, and will be in the NFL a while
18.
Houston Texans: Mike Jenkins, CB, S. Florida Another talented cover corner who is fast
and also a dual threat with his return skills.
19.
Philadelphia Eagles:
Devin Thomas, WR, Mich St. Safest WR pick of draft, solid hands, played
in college like a pro, if the Eagles stay at 19 and
this guy makes it here, Id imagine theyd go for it.
Look for a crazy day with their 11 picks and
also look for a trade up to try to snag an OT
20.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Aqib Talib, CB, Kansas Gee ANOTHER talented CC who is fast,
can jump, and has size. Hitting the bowl right
the draft may hurt his stock...can also return
21.
Washington Redskins: Desean Jackson, WR, Cal Not saying I agree with the pick, this guy
sure is a burner but with that size I just dont see
him as a 1st rd guy. That being said the Skins are
always looking to add a playmaker....
22.
Dallas Cowboys: Felix Jones, RB, Arkansas The "other guy" from Arkansas that has as
much skills and upside as any back in the draft,
playmaker the Cowboys will snag with their RB
situation.
23.
Pittsburgh Steelers:
Gosder Cherilus, T, Boston Col. I think the Steelers will grab the best O
linemen on the board to groom after losing
Faneca in Free Agency.
24.
Tennessee Titans:
Limas Sweed, WR, Texas One of the bigger top WR prospects
whose dealt with injuries, but has the size and
hands to be a WR in the NFL.
25.
Seattle Seahawks: Jonathan Stewart, RB, OR Big, tough back who isnt afraid to fight for
extra yards yet has speed as well.
26.
Jacksonville Jaguars:
Jerod Mayo, LB, Tenn. Fast strong LB with good football IQ, could
make an immediate impact on Jags D.
27.
San Diego Chargers:
Kenny Phillips, S, Miami Best safety in the draft, a bit raw but has the
build and instinct to be a pro bowl safety.
28.
Dallas Cowboys:
Malcolm Kelly, WR, Okla Another big, talented WR, and with the Dallas
WR corps being talented but aging, look for them
to take if hes still here when they pick.
29. San Francisco 49ers:
Kentwan Balmer, DT, N.C. Niners still need help on that defense and a
quality DT at the end of round one should be
a relatively easy pick for them.
30.
Green Bay Packers:
Quentin Groves, DE/LB Aub. One of the best pass rushers in the draft,
just not 100% what pos. hell best fit in NFL
31.
New England Patriots: CHEATERS
32.
New York Giants:
Antoine Cason CB, Arizona Im not sure hell still be here, and I dont think
the Giants are "going after" a CB in the first,
if hes here, too hard to pas on this guy.
Ok so there it was guys! Believe it or not, A LOT of work went into all my revisions but I hope you Enjoy and please lemme know what you like/dislike or who you might want your team to take instead of my pick! Thanks!
