from steelymcbeammustdie.com "Given the rise of roller derby and the momentum of Baltimore's own Charm City Roller Girls, do you have any interest in doing a movie about the roller derby?" No, but I'm for them, and I love that most roller-derby girls today are ironic burlesque stars. . .

from www.steelymcbeammustdie.com by John Cihon Mel Practice of the Hot Metal Hellions previously guaranteed a win against the Bitch Doctors in the upcoming July Steel City Derby Demons event. She said, "We're playing the Bitch Doctors next. We're gonna win, we have to, otherwise we can't get to the championship. I guarantee it." The Hot Metal Hellions are currently at one win and one loss for the year, and they do indeed need a win to get to the title game. Throughout the entire history of sports, the only time a guarantee of a win has actually worked and not backfired on the guarantee placer was when Joe Namath. . .

from www.steelymcbeammustdie.com by John Cihon I hate Julianna Hatfield, she's such a b****, she acts as if she doesn't even know her fans exist (because she didn't play that song about her sister). . .

from www.steelymcbeammustdie.com by John Cihon The Steelers Junior Gatorade Training camp is a free camp for kids ages 7-14 that is scheduled for this Sunday. My son has attended for the past several years, and has enjoyed it greatly. There have been unannounced player visits at both of the camps my son has been at. There are apparently still a couple of slots open for the camp this Sunday, it is on the South Side, and the first session is from noon until two, the second from three to five. If you have a child in the appropriate age group, and would like to attend, contact. . .

from www.steelymcbeammustdie.com by John Cihon When I showed up for the Steel City Derby Demons'(that being of course Pittsburgh's only all-female, all-action, all-skating, all-hitting roller derby league) May 'Block of Love' event, I was amazed and astounded to find Bekkie M-K Ultra of the Slumber Party Slashers, there, skating, and ready to roll. I found it so hard to believe that I momentarily thought that maybe I was secretly dosed with LSD by the CIA. Why was I so confused? Because in April, I saw BMKU get hit in a match and fall down-hard. I saw her unsuccessfully try to get up, and crumble to the ground when her ankle gave way and left her foot hanging at a ninety-degree angle from her leg. Then I saw her carried out of the skating rink because she wasn't able to leave under her own power. Like everyone else in that rink, I thought that BMKU's ankle was broken; and like everyone else in that rink, I thought that BMKU wouldn't be skating for a while. Everyone except Bekkie M-K Ultra, that is. . .

by John Cihon from www.steelymcbeammustdie.com As we near Pennsylvania's primary election, an unprecedented number of former Pittsburgh Steelers, as well as team chairman Dan Rooney, have chosen to endorse Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama. The two most surprising endorsements come from Jerome Bettis, who donated to George W. Bush's campaign in 2004, and Dan Rooney, who has. . .

The Pittsburgh Steelers used to consider themselves to be a classier organization than the other clubs in the National Football League. The Pittsburgh Steelers used to pride themselves on not having players on their team who were beset by the bad behavior and problems with the law that seem to follow some other clubs. They can't possibly think that anymore. . .

Today, Ben Roethlisberger became the highest-paid Pittsburgh Steeler ever, as well as one of, if not the highest, paid players in the NFL. NFL contracts being only slightly simpler to understand than the tax code, it's unclear whether or not Ben has the absolute highest paying contract in the NFL, but he's definitely up there. To be specific, $102 million over eight seasons, $36 million in. . .
