Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and What have you

What's up everybody....I've been busy over the holidays...my family came out on Christmas Eve and stayed for a week...having them at my house mixed with practice and games made for a busy holiday week. I got my first points in the NBA the other day against Philly, I was happy that I got to play a little bit while my family was still in town. We finally lost last night after winning 13 straight, but the good thing about the NBA is we get a chance to start a new streak tomorrow night in Minnesota. Happy New Year...thanks for reading - Josh

Going for Ten!

I wish I could say I haven't written in on the yard for a while because I was superstitous with the win streak we have going...but in reality I've just been busy. It's good to check back in though...We've come along way since my last enty, we've won 9 straight, and we play Denver tonight at home to try and make it ten. Everything seems better when you're winning. It's been alot of fun being a part of something special and being on a team that has such great chemistry. Off the court I've been scrambling around trying to get my shopping done and my house in order before my family gets here for Christmas...hopefully my sister will show me how to use my camera so I can get some pictures put on here for you...Happy Holidays...Be back soon...

Finally...a Road Win

What's Up? Just got back from another road trip...but we finally got a win on the road against Memphis. Travis Outlaw hit a last second shot to win it. It was a great way to win and I was happy for him because alot of his family was at the game. I'm still getting back in shape from this ankle but I'm feeling almost back to normal...I got a few minutes against the Spurs in San Antonio and felt pretty good. For now I'm just working out as much as I can, doing as well as I can in practice and going to every game ready to play, whether I play or not, because you never know when you could be called on.

I got a couple Christmas trees for my house yesterday because we got the day off...my family is coming out for Christmas for about a week so I've got to try to make my house look a little less like three college guys live here and a little more like a nice family house. We've got the Heat tomorrow...hopefully we can get another win...Be back soon. Thanks - Josh

Back Again.

Whats up everybody....its been a while. I did some video stuff with some of the Yardbarker guys when I was in DC to play the Wizards though so look for that pretty soon. We've been up and down the past few weeks and the Magic got us last night. One of my good friends, JJ Redick plays for Orlando so it was good to hang out with him a little bit the day before the game, but it would have been better to get a win.

I didn't do too much for Thanksgiving...just had practice in the morning and relaxed the rest of the day. We attempted to cook a turkey which shockingly didn't make anybody sick, and we made a pie that turned out pretty well. The only thing that was a little traditional was the fact that we watched Christmas Vacation like we do every year.

We've got Indiana at home tomorrow night before we get back on the road again. I grew up in Indianapolis cheering for the Pacers so I'm looking forward to playing against my hometown team for the first time. Speaking of my hometown...congratulations to Carmel HS for winning the football state championship. Greyhound football rules!...I'll be back soon....Thanks. - Josh

Second time around

What's up everybody? It's Sunday again and its looking ugly again for the Colts through the thrid quarter. Hopefully they can turn it around and get a win here in the fourth and more importantly not get anyone else hurt....On a better note we've won three straight at home and play the Pistons on Tuesday before we head east for a road trip. It was exciting to be apart of my first regular season NBA game even though I'm still not able to play, and even better to get our first win. We played Memphis the first night and I got a chance to hang out with Mike Conley a little bit the night before the game. Its weird to think that we were playing high school basketball against each other not that long ago...time flies.

My ankle is getting alot better. I practiced some last week...I'm obviously a little out of shape after missing so much time and I have alot to catch up on in learning our offense. I should be back pretty soon though..and its a great feeling to be back with the team again. We got a big win vs. Dallas on Saturday night....L.A. and Brandon have been killing people on this homestand. They're exciting to watch...and I can't wait to get a chance to play with them.

I was suprised to see so many comments after my first post...I didnt expect to have so many people check out my blog...I appreciate it though and I'll try to work in some answers to your questions and look at some of your suggestions. I was suprised to see that it took so long for people to write hate messages and negative comments...luckily for me theres cowards that have enough time to worry about my life on a lot of websites...even this one. haha. I'll take as many reads as I can though...so please keep reading whether you like me or not..write something bad if it makes you feel better about your life...I'm doing fine either way haha.

My Colts are showing some life though so I'm going to get back to watching this game....as always keep letting me know what you want to see in the next entry. Until next time....thanks for reading. -Josh

Hello, My Name is Josh McRoberts

What's up everybody. I'm excited that I'm getting the chance to write my first blog here on Yardbarker. Hopefully I'll be able to give you something interesting to read and some insight into my first season in the NBA, on and off the floor. I'll be willing to talk about pretty much anything so give me some ideas about what you want to see or know more about.

I had a tough start to the season. Some of you may know that I sprained my ankle pretty bad the second or third day of training camp. It was a freak accident but in a few seconds I was out for a month. It was a pretty ugly sprain...my ankle swelled up quickly and my foot and toes were purple for about three weeks. The other guys on the team made me cover it up anytime they were around because it looked so bad. The good news is that I've had time to get stronger in the weight room before the start of the season and I finally get to start practicing again a little bit tomorrow. I can't wait!

I've enjoyed being in Portland so far, and I'm getting more comfortable and situated in my house. I'm living with two of my best friends Matt and Ian and we got lucky and found a pretty nice spot to live with a great view, i can try to upload a view pictures and maybe a tour of the house if theres any interest. Portland's a great city (especially when its sunny like it has been the past couple of weeks) and the people out here have been really nice.

Today was a tough day for me because my team lost to the evil empire that is the New England Patirots. I was born and raised in Indianapolis, so I'm a diehard Colts fan. It hurt to see them lose at home when they dominated the game for so long. I watched the game over at Greg's house with him, our friend Brandon, and G's uncle. Taurean Green came and watched with us too, not as a fan but as a loud-mouthed, bandwagon-riding hater. I don't know why he was there; other than to talk nonstop about how the Colts were going to lose and to give me a hard time about wearing a Bob Sanders jersey. It's going to take me a few days to get over it, and I owe a few guys on the team dinner so I'll hear about the loss for a while. I guess there's always next week though.

Other than that I don't have too much else to talk about right now. Give me a few ideas for next time and I'll try to keep this blog interesting and as entertaining as possible. Thanks for reading. See you soon.
