What a Sunday!!!

The most important and exciting news of the day is the Eagles beat the Jets once again 16-9. We had all of the O line in the game. Great to see Westbrook back and LJ smith. Just a little highlight Mcnabb threw for 278 yards. Westbrook rushed for 120 yrds in 20 carries. Sheldon Brown with a lovely interception. What about that 75 yrd touchdown by the white lightning Kevin Curtis. That was a GREAT play by both Curtis and Mcnabb. I would have liked to have more touchdowns but I won't be greedy. WAY TO GO EAGLES!!!

To make the sunday even more lovely the skins lost. I don't think Santana Moss is very happy with himself. He had a fumble which resulted in a pick up by the packers for 57 yrds for what ended up being the game winning touchdown. He wasn't the only one in the game to fumble the ball. I believe a couple of them did.

Yeah, this year Dallas has been doing good. They were 5-0, T.O is catching the ball and Romo thinks he knows what he is doing. WELL, TO seal this wonderful Sunday Dallas lost to THE PATRIOTS 48-27. I guess Dallas fans won't be wearing their jersey's tomorrow and I don't think they will be talking any smack either. 5-1 and the losing begins!!!!

I can't wait to see what goes on next Sunday. What do you think??? Man, I love football.

GO EAGLES!!!!! E-A-G-L-E-S!!!

Eagles vs. Jets

After getting healthy over the bye week and trying to erase the memories of a 16-3 loss to the Giants, the Eagles head straight back to the Meadowlands to take on the Jets. After a surprising run to the playoffs last season, the Jets have struggled in the early going, dropping four of their first five games including a 35-24 loss to the Giants on Sunday at Giants Stadium.

They certainly don't have a very good history against the Eagles. Seven times the two teams have met; seven times the Eagles have won. Both teams desperately need a win, and the Eagles will be looking to continue their domination of the "other" team from New York. The Jets are the only current NFL team that Philadelphia has played more than two times without a loss.

The Jets, of course, are reeling with many question marks. The offense has sputtered with quarterback Chad Pennington at the helm and the defense was victimized by big plays in the loss to the Giants.

So the Jets have never Beaten the Eagles!!! We won't let them this time either.

Why do I keep hearing about Mcnabb leaving

Is it true Mcnabb might leave the Eagles in 08' for the bears or another stupid team? I have only read it on the yard but still that's enough to make me freak out and wonder. I don't think it is though, it can't be he is an Eagle for life he just wouldn't look right in another Jersey or on the opposite side of the field. He wouldn't do that, Would he? He is an awesome player and he is one of my favorites. I really don't think he knows how some of us really do appreciate him? All he can hear is the negative comments people throw out there. Well I really hope people know that he has done a lot for this team. No, he has not won the superbowl but he did take us there. We have five nfc east championships which four of those in 6 years he has given us. He is a great player and everyone should know that, if you don't you don't pay attention. The Eagles can get back their game and they can make things happen and Mcnabb knows how to do that. We really need to support our quarterback and our team... LET'S GO EAGLES!!! E-A-G-L-E-S!!!!

Let's Hope are Luck changes

Am I shocked that this team is 0-2? Yes. If you had told me before the season that the Eagles would lose to the Packers and the Redskins, I would have said no way. However, it has happened. This team has been there before. They were 0-2 in 2003 and went 12-4, so it happens. I just did not think that neither the Packers nor the Redskins were good enough to beat the Eagles. I'm still not sure if either of those teams are that good, but I am sure that the Eagles did not play well at times and have some things that they need to address.

The first thing was addressed when they brought in Reno Mahe to return punts. There's no doubt in my mind that had Mahe been a part of this team on opening day in Green Bay, the Eagles would have won that game. As far as the last game was concerned, there were other issues. There was the problem that Donovan McNabb and the offense had. I thought there was a mismatch between wide receiver Santana Moss and cornerback Will James, the Redskins moved at will in that direction - no pun intended. I thought they would throw at him; they did and did so successfully.

Reese: McNabb can and will get back to a Pro Bowl-caliber level

McNabb is not moving the way he's moved in the past, not that you would expect him to this quickly after an ACL injury. However, I think it's affecting his throwing right now. I think it's affecting his escape ability, his mobility in the pocket. He's not playing like Donovan McNabb at his best right now. I think he's capable of raising his level of play. We saw that during the preseason where he was absolutely terrific at times. I think he can and will get back to that level.

I don't know if the injury has changed him mentally other than the fact that when you do something and everything's clicking, you have the much more confidence in the next throw. If you're struggling, you might think 'I hope this gets there' instead of confidently going 'Take this!' It's a different mindset, but it's the same for any athlete. It's the same as a tennis player who is serving well or a golfer whose putts are falling down. He subtlety believes that every putt is going in the hole. Even the great ones like Tiger Woods have days where nothing goes right. They miss their first three 3-footers and the rest of the day they don't have same degree of confidence or aggressiveness

Mcnabb Shrugs Off Backlash

"It's just reality," McNabb said. "It's something that I've been a part of and other quarterbacks before and after me have been a part of. Did I expect any backlash? Yeah. Everything I say, I expect backlash from it."

McNabb displayed a variety of emotions while getting peppered with questions on the race issue. He was perplexed and defensive -- and looked more uncomfortable than he does standing in the pocket on his surgically repaired knee under a heavy rush.

"People are trying to dig too deep in this whole situation," he said. "I wasn't pinpointing particular people. What I said was the fact that we (black QBs) have to do a little extra. No matter the style of play you're displaying, there's always going to be criticism."

Eagles vs. Redskins

Game Preview

After Sunday's 16-13 loss in Green Bay, the Eagles return home to face the Washington Redskins on Monday Night Football. The Eagles as a franchise are 20-15 when playing beneath the bright lights on Monday night, and they enter the contest having won their last two Monday night games. Last season, the Eagles beat rival Washington in both meetings, and the Eagles have won eight of the last 10 games in the series.

The Redskins were on the positive end of a 16-13 game last Sunday, beating the Dolphins at home. Unfortunately for Washington, they may have lost tackle Jon Jansen, who broke his right ankle in the second quarter, for the rest of the season. Jansen is one of the cornerstones of the Redskins' solid offensive line, and the loss will be a big one for a Washington team that likes to run the ball.

Last Time They Met:

Dec. 10, 2006: Eagles 21, Redskins 19

The Eagles survived a late comeback attempt by the Redskins after leading 21-3 in the first half. The Eagles built the lead largely on the back of two huge defensive plays. First, Omar Gaither intercepted a Jason Campbell pass and returned it to the Redskins' 31-yard line, which set up a Jeff Garcia touchdown pass. Later, cornerback William James deflected another Campbell pass directly into the hands of safety Michael Lewis, who returned it 84 yards for a touchdown. The Redskins closed to within two in the second half, but a key sack by Brian Dawkins helped secure the win.

When The Eagles Have The Ball

After the Redskins defense carried them to the brink of the NFC Championship game in 2005, it fell apart last season, setting an NFL record for fewest takeaways in a 16-game season with 12. Washington defensive coordinator Gregg Williams has consistently fielded one of the best units in the league and it is too early to tell whether this season's edition will more closely resemble the defense of 2005 or 2006. In week one, the unit held Miami to 273 yards of total offense, including 66 yards on the ground. Two of the Redskins' key defensive additions, linebacker London Fletcher and rookie safety LaRon Landry, had strong games, and Fletcher led the team in tackles. Still, the Redskins forced only a single turnover. The Eagles offense had its struggles against Green Bay, moving the ball effectively at times, but converting only 6-of-18 third-down opportunities. Brian Westbrook rushed for 85 yards on 20 carries against the Pack, but will have to work hard to find space against a unit that completely bottled up Ronnie Brown in week one.

CHEATING NOT TO BLAME FOR SUPER BOWL LOSS

"There are always going to be questions about the situation," free safety Brian Dawkins said. "Was it great adjustments at halftime or what? But the bottom line is, we didn't make the plays we needed to make to win that game, and that's basically where it stands."

The adjustments that Dawkins referred to are the ones made by Patriots coach Bill Belichick and his staff that allowed New England's offense to score 17 second-half points after struggling in the early part of the game.

Reno Mahe Ready??? I think so!!

On how RB/PR/KR Reno Mahe looked in practice and how much of a transition it will be for him coming in without much preparation: "He looked great the first day out there. We put him on the JUGS machine and he probably caught 150 balls or so, and didn't drop any. He just kind of picked up where he left off. So, we feel real good with Reno right now, and you can tell he's definitely been working."

SHEPPARD OUT ON MONDAY NIGHT.:(

Lito Sheppard to miss time with knee sprain

Lito Sheppard just cannot stay healthy. Lito has consistently been injured the last three years. After the first game of the season, Lito has been affected by the injury bug once again. This time Lito sprained the MCL in his knee. The injury was caused from the play where Sheppard and Considine collided to break up a pass play. Lito will have to miss the Eagle's next game on Monday night against the Redskins and possibly more.

Other injuries include backup cornerback Joselio Hanson, who is day-to-day with a concussion; Sean Considine, who is day-to-day with a knee sprain; backup corneback William James, who has a bruised hip; and Greg Lewis, who hurt his hip-pointer.

GO EAGLES!!!!

To all of those Eagle fans out there. I know our season opener against the Packers sucked. I didn't get to watch the game but I did listen to it on my computer with my brother, so I know it was bad. I also know that this is to early for any of us to judge upon one game. I watch every game til the end. I believe in miracles and I know that in the last two minutes of a game everything can change. I dont know how many times I have been on the edge of my seat heart pounding, sweating, praying, fingers crossed for something to happen and it does. this time luck wasn't on my side. Not because the eagles played bad but because special teams played bad. I know they didn't leave that game with a pat on their back and I'm sure they are practing extremely hard to fix what they couldn't do on Sunday. If anyone can make things happen Mcnabb can., Westbrook gets the ball down the field. On defense Dawkins makes sure he does his part, and Lito, you all know if he intercepts the ball he's gone. Touch down Eagles!!! So, I think we should all put this game behind us and focus on the rest of the season. We really need to keep our heads high. Yeah, I made jokes about the eagles searching for punt returner but I know they will figure out something. The eagles are a great team. How many times have we won the NFC East in the past 7 years? It could be worst when was the last time the Giants, Dallas, and the Redskins touched the super bowl. How many times have they won the Nfc east in the past 10 years? So, if you look at the facts, We are a great team. No we haven't won the superbowl but we've been there. When it is our time we will go again and we will win. I live with a redskins fan and I can always find something positive to say about my team. So, I say it now til the end of the season GO EAGLES!!!! Have FAITH!
