First Post! And being its almost draft week, im gonna go ahead and make my first about just that. With so many options for Portland its really hard to say anything that either A hasnt been said or B isn't absolutly ludacris. So I will say what I think may happen, and what I would like to happen.
First I think that barring something really worth moving some pieces for we really shouldn't do anything, use are 13th pick on
Joe Alexander, who probably wont be there, or packaging our 13 and one or two of our three second round picks to move up and get either joe or
Russell Westbrook. I wasnt that impressed with D.J. Augustine. With Peterrte Koponan looking as good as ever at 6'4 195 and ball handling skills, he may be our answer for PG. Adding Oden and
Rudy Fernandez just begs the question what else do we need?
Ok on to some "In Nate's World" ideas and hopes. First and foremost, we trade Jerret Jack, James Jones, our 13 and a couple if not all our second round picks with chicago for the #1 and add Rose to make the most rediculous line up ever. A moment to ponder that greatness if you will.... OK back to reality, or not. We trade Jerret Jack and a couple of our second round picks for
Baron Davis..Or if he opts out, which I dont think he will, we push to pick him up. Again not likely.
Next; things I dont want to see; Anything for Kirk Heinrich, no thank you. Anything for Leandro Barbosa, not worth it, especially since the guy wants to stay in Phoenix, he is missing the Olympics with Brazil to stay and work in Phoenix. Delante West, rumors circulating, not worth it, and not a good fit in Portland.
Lastly, people I don't wan't to see moved;
Travis Outlaw, we have him for good money, he is improving, his ceiling is very high. If he works hard during the off season and keeps his asthma in check he will be our 6th man and very much in the running for 6th Man of the Year.
Channing Frye; another kid full of potential, great work ethic, great attitude, and perfect back up to Lamarcus Aldridge, would be a shame to see him go, tho he could start for a lot of teams in this league.
Martell Webster, I wouldn't be that hurt to see him go but he is becoming more and more coachable and is really just starting to Blossom. As with all things Blazer Draft Related in KP we trust. Can't wait for Thursday!
