Kevin Garnett Slaps Andrew Bogut

Celtics forward Kevin Garnett has been suspended one game without pay by the league for slapping Andrew Bogut in the face in Saturday night's scuffle with the Bucks in Milwaukee. The suspension was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA executive vice president of basketball operations.

In addition, Bogut's foul that was committed on Garnett has been upgraded to a Flagrant Foul Penalty One.

Cuban Responds to SEC Charges

Yesterday, federal regulators accused Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban of insider trading by using using confidential information on a stock sale to avoid more than $750,000 in losses.

The Securities and Exchange Commission filed a civil lawsuit against Cuban on Monday in federal court in Dallas. The agency said that in June 2004, Cuban was invited to get in on the coming stock offering by Mamma.com Inc. after he agreed to keep the information private.

Today, Cuban responded [...]

Vince Carter to Cavaliers?

The New Jersey Nets are currently in rebuilding mode and as a result, teams have begun to explore the availability of Vince Carter. Inside sources believe [...]

Stephen Jackson Signs Extension

The Golden State Warriors have signed guard/forward Stephen Jackson to a contract extension. Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not announced but it has been reported that the contract is worth just under $28 million over three years.

"We're excited to have Stephen under contract for the next several years," said Warriors President Robert Rowell. "He has been nothing short of terrific a€" both on the floor and in the community - since we acquired him almost two years ago. He has embraced this opportunity with the Warriors and has become a leader of a very young basketball team."

Stephen Jackson is [...]

Knicks Will Buyout Stephon Marbury

The highest paid bench player in the NBA, Stephon Marbury, had a 45-minute meeting yesterday with Donnie Walsh at the team's Westchester headquarters, according to the New York Post.

Apparently, the two parties will indeed agree to a buyout and a decision should be finalized within a week.

According to sources, Marbury has already asked for permission to speak with other ball clubs and Walsh is expected to [...]

Bulls Hunting for Lindsey

The Chicago Bulls' backcourt has been hit with several injuries early in the season. Kirk Hinrich could be sidelined for up to three months after having thumb surgery and Larry Hughes has still not played this season due to a shoulder injury.

To fill the void at the point guard position, the Chicago Bulls signed NBA veteran Lindsey Hunter today to serve as a backup to [...]

Gilbet Arenas is Looking For Obamaniac!

If you look on Gilbert Arenas's calendar, you may find January 20th, 2009 circled, marked with an check, or even colored in red white and blue. No, not because he expects to comeback from his injury (hopefully, he'll be back by then) or even play against a major contender in the Eastern Conference. It actually has nothing to do with basketball.

According to the Twentieth Amendment, January 20th, 2009 at exactly 12:00pm marks the inauguration of Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

Gilbert is elated about the day, but he won't be in Washington to celebrate. The Wizards will be on a west coast road trip playing the Lakers, Warriors and Kings.

Although Gilbert will be away, his house won't be empty. Apparently, he has setup an ad on craigslist offering his suburban DC home for [...]

Shaq Pushes McGrady to the Floor

The Phoenix Suns suffered a bad loss last night when they were defeated by the Houston Rockets with a final score of 94-82.

It was a tough night for them after scoring a season low 82 points and shooting just 37.6 percent from the field.

The game was pretty close until the third quarter when the Rockets outscored the Suns 30-18. With 27 seconds left in the 3rd quarter an altercation broke out between Rafer Alston and Suns' forward Marvin Barnes.

On a play before the shoving match [...]

Stephon Marbury Trying his Spurs?

For yesterday's game in San Antonio, Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni sent another snub to Stephon Marbury. Instead of activating a physically healthy Starbury for the loss of Danilo Gallinari, D'Antoni instead chose to replace the chronically injured italian with Eddy Curry in the lineup.

Although Curry is currently injured, the big man suited up in a Knicks uniform while Marbury was sitting behind the bench in his casual attire. More interestingly [...]

Kevin Martin in Tears

On Sunday, when the Sacramento Kings faced the Golden State Warriors, Kevin Martin sprained his ankle driving through the paint. When he jumped on the shot attempt, he was bumped by Andris Biedrins and fell awkwardly. Martin quickly got up but was evidently in pain when getting up to shoot the free throws. He also had tears in his eyes, believeing that his ankle had broken in the play.

"When I first went down, I was just thinking, 'Not this again,' " Martin said. "That's why I started crying, because I thought it was over. When I went over to the bench, I thought it was something (worse). It was pretty painful. I tried to walk it off, but it wasn't working".

Martin had X-Rays after the game which turned out negative. Although the injury was not as bad as he initially [...]

Kings Want Turkoglu Back

The Sacramento Kings drafted Hedo Turkoglu in the first round in 2000, which made him the first Turkish-born player in the NBA. Turkoglu mostly played as a backup to Peja Stojakovic his first years in the league before he was dealt to San Antonio in 2003.

In 2004, Orlando acquired the small forward in free agency and in a recent interview with Magic General Manager Otis Smith, it was revealed that the Kings have been [...]

Top 5 NBA Tattoos

# 1. Miami's Shawn Marion thought he was getting his nickname "The Matrix" inked in Chinese lettering down his right leg. But the actual translation, it turns out, is closer to "Demon Bird Moth Balls."

# 2. Clippers' big man Marcus Camby also went the Chinese letters route, but his right shoulder art actually does say "Strive To Be The Best." He hopes.

# 3. New Nuggets guard Chauncey Billups grew up dreaming [...]

Nuggets Rolled the Dyess on Antonio

Since being traded to the Denver Nuggets, NBA Veteran Antonio McDyess has yet to suit up in the sky blue and white uniform. In fact, he does not plan to anytime in the near future.

Apparently, McDyess is seeking a buyout for his $7 million contract and sources expect that he will settle for a figure around $6 million.

When news broke of the trade, the Nuggets heard that McDyess did not want to play for them due to [...]

Tony Parker Sprains Ankle

In yesterday's loss to the Miami Heat, the NBA's current leading scorer, Tony Parker, sprained his left ankle late in the first quarter. A televised replay showed that Parker landed awkwardly after driving to the basket. X-rays taken at the arena were negative.

The french point-guard is expected to [...]

Josh Smith Sidelined 2-4 Weeks
