Shawn Kemp is a 17 year old power forward from Georgia. He is 6-9, and has some of the same facial features of his father, Shawn Kemp the Seattle Sonics legend, who he doesn't talk to much. Kemp is ranked 83rd of all high school basketball prospects by Scout.com. And one of his main interests at the moment is the University of Washington. After losing superstar guard
Ryan Appleby, Washington would happily accept Kemp to pair with
Jon Brockman and
Quincy Pondexter. Suddenly, Washington would be a force to be reckoned with.
With Indiana another school Kemp is seriously thinking about attending next Fall, the man with the 7-1 wingspan must make his desicion. And even though he does not keep in much contact with his father (he lives with his mother in Georgia) Shawn Kemp Sr. has invited Jr to his Houston home to work out.
So its obvious Kemp is making a splash in the basketball world. But after receiving other offers from big-time schools Ole-Miss, Alabama, Cincinatti, and Georgia, Kemp faces a big desicion. Theres no question he's going to be good. The question is: Where will Kemp be good? Which school will he help win a national title.
He shoots 70% from the field, so yeah. He's that good.
