Shawn Kemp: Back in Seattle?

Shawn Kemp is a 17 year old power forward from Georgia. He is 6-9, and has some of the same facial features of his father, Shawn Kemp the Seattle Sonics legend, who he doesn't talk to much. Kemp is ranked 83rd of all high school basketball prospects by Scout.com. And one of his main interests at the moment is the University of Washington. After losing superstar guard Ryan Appleby, Washington would happily accept Kemp to pair with Jon Brockman and Quincy Pondexter. Suddenly, Washington would be a force to be reckoned with.

With Indiana another school Kemp is seriously thinking about attending next Fall, the man with the 7-1 wingspan must make his desicion. And even though he does not keep in much contact with his father (he lives with his mother in Georgia) Shawn Kemp Sr. has invited Jr to his Houston home to work out.

So its obvious Kemp is making a splash in the basketball world. But after receiving other offers from big-time schools Ole-Miss, Alabama, Cincinatti, and Georgia, Kemp faces a big desicion. Theres no question he's going to be good. The question is: Where will Kemp be good? Which school will he help win a national title.

He shoots 70% from the field, so yeah. He's that good.

To Favre: Stay retired or become a free agent. In other words, you are done as a Green Bay Packer.

Packers team president and CEO Mark Murphy said on Brett Favre at a charity event in Wisconsin, "Going back to his retirement announcement...I think it's pretty reasonable that...we're going to move on." Former team president Bob Harlan added, "He was ready to retire...I think down deep that's...how he feels." So maybe it is all rumor. Maybe there is no reson for a media frenzy. But maybe, this also indicates that the Packers are not interested in keeping Favre if he plans a comeback. Maybe they release him and let him finish his career for a team of his choice. Frankly, I see trading him as a very non-classy move. Releasing him gives him the freedom to choose where to go. Carolina? Chicago? Minnesota? Or will #4 stay retired....

Elton Brand Headed to Philly?

According to multiple sources, Elton Brand has reached a verbal agreement on a contract with the Philadelhia 76ers. According to The Associated Times, the 76ers will trade forwards Rodney Carney and Calvin Booth as well as a future #1 pick in the Draft to Minnesota for unknown player/ players. The deal would open up enough cap space for the sixers to give Brand a big deal. Think about it, ladies and gentlemen. Andre Iguodala, Andre Miller, Thaddeus Young, Sam Dalembert, and now, introducing Elton Brand. The sixers could well end up being a dangerous team and could be contenders in 08/09. After luring Baron Davis away from Golden State, think of the explosion Brand with the sixers would cause. It is just a report as of now, but over the next few days, anything can happen. I wonder how Baron Davis feels about all this.
