Isnt It Annoying.....Eagles Website

isnt it annoying how the eagles website is so psychotically optimistic about eveyone? i was reading all the articles (spadaro) they have and specially the practice blogs, and they make everyone out to be superstars. even guys who are going to be cut. they give a false sense of hope. every year at this time its the same old thing. if someone who had no clue who anybody was on the eagles would read things on this site theyd think we were some ustoppable force. its just psychoitc how positive they are about EVERYONE. i mean come on, i remember last couple years spadaro saying how great this team is and pointing out evey single player like they were superstars and look what happened when reality set in, we didnt have any superstar seasons. it would be great if what they said was true.....but all it does is make fans overly excited with their expectations. id much rather have a straight shooter tell me how things are REALLY goin on. just gets on my nerves especially that puppet spadaro.....but anyway hopefully we'll win the super bowl this year.....and if you talk to anybody on the eagles website i think we might have already won it. GO EAGLES!!!!!!!

Eagles Considered Trading Andrews????

Various readers tell us that Anthony Gargano of WIP radio in Philly reported on Friday that the Eagles discussed internally the possibility of trading guard Shawn Andrews, who is an unexcused absence from training camp.

Though the team still isn't calling the situation a holdout, we're still struggling to understand why he's not there.

Gargano also reported that Andrews will be fined for his absence. The CBA permits daily fines in excess of $15,000.

The concern apparently is that Andrews has at times been emotional, and the team is apparently getting frustrated.

Andrews was a first-round pick in 2004. He is signed through 2015.

....what the hell is going on?!?!?!? has anybody been listening to wip? have any info of what their saying about this? .......ugh.....

Boldin Wont Resign, Not Sure If He Wants A Trade Now

Boldin is pissed!!!!!.....good news for eagles?????

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Anquan Boldin, unhappy that his contract has not been renegotiated, said Wednesday he will play out his contract and then leave for another team.

Boldin, whose current deal expires after the 2010 season, said he feels he's been lied to by the Cardinals.

"After last year, I was promised a deal would get done before this season. But the season is here and obviously that hasn't happened. I don't want a deal. People may think I'm being funny, or just saying that to say that. But I'm just tired of it. I'm washing my hands of the whole situation."

Boldin said his unhappiness won't affect his play on the field this year, but that he has no intention of ever signing another contract with the Cardinals.

"My agent (Drew Rosenhaus) has orders not to negotiate," Boldin said.

WHEN ASKED IF HE WOULD PREFER A TRADE AT THIS POINT, BOLDIN PAUSED AND SAID, "I REALLY DONT KNOW."

Boldin said his unhappiness does not stem from the fact that teammate Larry Fitzgerald received a new four-year, $40 million deal in the offseason. Boldin renegotiated his rookie contract in July of 2005, agreeing to a four-year, $22.75 million extension that included a $13.255 million signing bonus.

Even with three years still left on that deal, Boldin believes his performance warrants another contract extension.

"I've earned it," Boldin said. "I don't have to make a case to anybody as to why I'm deserving of a new contract. That's self explanatory."

ANDREWS TO MISS START OF TRAINING CAMP NOT BECAUSE OF CONTRACT

andrews will miss start of training camp due to personal reasons, not due to contract problems.

The Eagles have confirmed that Pro Bowl right guard Shawn Andrews and his agent have told the team that Andrews will not be present for the start of the team's training camp for "personal reasons."

All of the team's players are due in for a 7 p.m. meeting on Thursday at Lehigh University. Andrews missed the final week of the team's June passing game for "personal reasons" as well.

Early reports indicated that Andrews was seeking an adjustment to his current contract, which runs through 2015, but neither Andrews nor the team has talked about the situation publicly. Andrews' agent, Rich Moran, told the Philadelphia Daily News that it is "100 percent wrong" to suggest that the absence is related to Andrews' contract, and that Andrews has talked to head coach Andy Reid today.

A first-round draft pick in 2004, Andrews earned an immedate starting position before suffering a broken fibula in the opening game against the Giants. He returned to start in 2005 and then made the Pro Bowl after both the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

Shawn Andrews Could Be A Holdout

Yet another eagle with a possible holdout!!! Son of a B!!!!

A league source tells us that there are rumblings that Eagles guard Shawn Andrews might not show up for training camp, apparently due to displeasure with his contract.

Andrews is another one of the young Eagles players who signed an early-career contract that extends into the next decade. In Andrews' case, he's signed through 2015.

The first-round pick in the 2004 draft is due to earn a base salary of $2.98 million in 2008. And if he thinks that's too low, he'll be really pissed off in 2009, when his base salary drops to $750,000.

If he doesn't report, he'll be subject to fines of more than $15,000 per day, and he could be required to pay back a portion of the bonus money.

Eagles First Day of Draft Analysis

i wanted to know what u thought of the eagles first day of the draft. i loved the trade w/ the panthers and that future 1st rounder. but what the hell is up with these two picks? a dt when we already have two good former 1st rounders? if they wanted depth y not pick a dt later on in the draft. these early picks are supposed to be guys who are goin to be good starters not backups. i think we had greater needs in other areas they could have addressed for future starters (ot, s, cb). i just dont get it. its like the giants pickin a de with their first pick "to be a rotational guy". u dont invest high picks for a fill in guy. and jackson.....y another small pint size reciever? dont we have enough of these wimps. and isnt he just another kevin curtis. how does he fit in our offense w/ him and curtis? we need a big red zone type wr. i was hopin we'd get hardy. i just cant stand our short corners and recievers. i think jackson will be another wr bust drafted by the fat man. and i sure as hell hope the eagles FO dont think this will satisfy the fans call for a #1 wideout. i still want boldin or williams (extra 1st rounder). what u think?
