DOES RAIDER6HATER HONESTLY THINK THAT THE BRONCOS ARE BETTER THAN THE EAGLES?

This person has been makeing fun of the eagles over the past few days. What makes him so cocky that the broncos are better than the eagles. First off we acutally could stop the run on defense unlike the broncos finishing 30 in the league last year in stopping the run. They have so many off the field issues Yes Brandon Marshall that means you. They have a qb who hasnt even made it to the playoffs in his career yet. They havent done anything since Elway has retired in 98. RAIDER6HATER JUST STOP TALKING TRASH ABOUT OTHER TEAMS OUTSIDE YOUR CONFERENCE WHEN YOU SHOULD BE WORRYING ABOUT THE TEAMS IN YOUR OWN CONFERENCE

How many TD passes do u think Mcnabb will have this Monday Night

This monday night at dallas i think mcnabb will have 3tds and 0 int. As long as our o-line blocks well for the eagles i think they will win this game.

WHY THE REDSKINS WILL NOT WIN THE SUPERBOWL

Lets make it short and sweet they SUCK

PSU LOOKS GREAT

Penn State today really suprised me on how well they played, the offense played outstanding behind darrel clark. Our receivers looked great also and the o-line has to be one of the best in the country behind 3 seniors. And our defense shut the beavers to only--. Just another great game for PSU

Dawkins injury update

Free safety Brian Dawkins left Friday night's game with what head coach Andy Reid described as an "ankle strain," an injury that will be updated once Dawkins has an MRI on Saturday.

Reid will provide an update on Sunday when the team returns to practice at the NovaCare Complex.

When asked after the 27-17 win over New England if he had an idea of the severity of the injury, Reid said, "I don't. We X-rayed it and there wasn't a break there, so we'll see what the MRI says."

Dawkins left the game in the first quarter after he was involved in a tangle down the field. He left the field, was examined by head athletic trainer Rick Burkholder and then was taken to the locker room on a cart.

His injury was the most notable of the night. Center Jamaal Jackson suffered a concussion and left the game in the first half.

Phillies offense finally comes through

The Phillies-Dodgers game at Citizens Bank Park on Friday night featured a classic pitching matchup of the youngster who's eager to prove himself against the wise, seasoned veteran.

The Phillies sent Kyle Kendrick to the hill, a 23-year-old right-hander who has become an integral part of their staff, but is still fighting the ups and downs that come with a hurler's first full season in the Major Leagues.

The Dodgers sent future Hall of Famer Greg Maddux to the mound to make his first start since they acquired him Tuesday from the Padres.

If Kendrick continues to pitch as well as he did during the Phillies' 8-1 win, the youngster might have to credit a portion of his success to Maddux.

Kendrick entered Friday's outing on the heels of perhaps the roughest six-start stretch of his career, a span in which he compiled a 6.90 ERA to raise his season mark to 5.01.

His most recent start was Saturday in San Diego, and it wasn't pretty. Kendrick walked five, couldn't find the strike zone and consistently pitched behind in the count. The 23-year-old surrendered six earned runs in the Phils' 8-3 loss.

Like he routinely does after his starts, Kendrick consulted with veteran hurler Jamie Moyer. This time, however, Moyer had an extra piece of advice for the youngster -- that he should discuss his struggles with Maddux, who was then still with the Padres. So before the next day's game, Kendrick made his way into PETCO Park's outfield for a 40-minute conversation with Maddux.

"It was exciting," Kendrick said. "I was talking about my struggles. He talked to me for a long time. I was very fortunate. Obviously, he's been doing something right."

Something from that conversation must have resonated strongly in Kendrick's mind. He held the Dodgers to one run Friday, on a first-inning homer by Andre Ethier, helping the Phils earn a win that allowed them to remain 2 1/2 games behind the Mets in the National League East.

The young righty was helped by Ryan Howard's two-run homer in the fourth, which gave the Phils a 2-1 lead. Chase Utley added a solo shot in the seventh for the game's final run.

Phils bullpen lets one slip away

The "L" appeared next to J.C. Romero's name, near his sparkling 2.30 ERA, punishment for an inside fastball that Andre Ethier turned into a 4-3 Dodgers win over the Phillies on Tuesday night.

Chad Durbin received a "BS" (blown save) for his crime of loading the bases with no outs in the eighth inning and allowing the tying run to score, distracting from his sparkling 1.90 ERA.

Those two pitchers accepted responsibility for allowing another fine Cole Hamels performance turn into a seventh straight start without a victory, though neither was responsible on a night when Philadelphia's flagging offense didn't deliver.

Gordon wont be coming back this season

Phillies reliever Tom Gordon's visit to Dr. Lewis Yocum on Monday went as expected, with the orthopedist agreeing with team physician Michael Ciccotti's diagnosis.

Gordon has an injury to his right ulnar collateral ligament and the flexor pronator muscle, which rests on the inside of his elbow, as well as irritation to his ulnar nerve. A small piece of bone has also detached from his medial epicondyle.

"That's the biggest thing," athletic trainer Scott Sheridan said of the bone injury. "Unfortunately, that bony piece is attached to the ligament and the tendon."

In simpler language, the chances of Gordon returning to the Phillies this season are remote. Gordon has selected to delay surgery, which would likely cost him all of the 2009 season. With rehabilitation, the 40-year-old righty will wear a brace and visit Ciccotti again in three weeks

Gordon makes first rehab appearance

When Phillies reliever Tom Gordon missed nearly two months last season recovering from a strained right rotator cuff and an upper respiratory infection, it turned out to be a good thing, baseball-wise.

With unexpected rest, the right-hander returned fresh to dominate in September, posting a 1.32 ERA in 15 games, and helping the Phillies win the National League East.

The Phils are hoping for similar results this season, as their 40-year-old setup man worked his way back from right elbow inflammation. Gordon began that journey on Sunday, tossing two-thirds of an inning in Class A Clearwater's 6-2 loss to Dunedin at Bright House Field in Clearwater, Fla.

Gordon allowed two earned runs on a hit and a walk. He struck out one and surrendered a home run to Brian Dopirak, typical results for a first outing in nearly a month.

I WOULD RATHER NOT HAVE THIS GUY BACK IN THE BULLPEN FOR THE PHIILS

Poor Billy Wagners left forearm hurts

One injury, suffered last Tuesday in Florida, sparked a chain reaction that has completely changed the complexion of the Mets' pitching staff. Billy Wagner's stiff left forearm created a need for another bullpen arm, a hole the Mets filled by selecting the contract of Double-A closer Eddie Kunz from Binghamton. To make room, they placed John Maine on the disabled list and pushed his next start back to mid-August.

"When you lose Billy Wagner," manager Jerry Manuel said, "that's very critical."

Though Maine is the one on the disabled list, Wagner's injury is the more problematic of the two. He first felt it on Tuesday, but after three days of inactivity in the interim, his left elbow stiffness had begun to subside. But when Wagner entered Saturday night's game against the Astros in a save situation, he felt the pain once again.

Wagner will have an MRI on the forearm this Tuesday in New York, and he isn't expected to pitch again before at least Wednesday.

Carrasco to Triple- A

The Phillies promoted top pitching prospect Carlos Carrasco to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Saturday, moving him one step from the big leagues.

With a need for a starting pitcher after lefty Les Walrond's promotion to the Phillies, Carrasco slides into the IronPigs rotation. In 20 games with Double-A Reading, the right-hander has logged 114 2/3 innings and posted a 4.32 ERA.
