Lito sheppard did not show up to todays organized team activity. he didnt come as a wide receiver or a wide receiver. Does that mean he wants more money or a different role? will he be traded? idk i guess we'll see
Finally, a breath of fresh air, instead of the usual patriot butt kissing. Joey Porter was on ESPN and he spoke up about the patriots cheating, he says they should have an * next to their Super Bowls. It is nice to hear somebody tell the truth instead of being politically correct. Joey is obviously bitter about the afc championship losses against them. Donovan, call them out. The patriots are cheaters and should be recognized as such. Read the link for Joey's quotes
Dan Morgan, the Pro Bowl linebacker whose seven-year career has been plagued by injuries, has decided to retire.
Morgan played his entire career with the Panthers, but he signed a free-agent contract with the Saints on March 11. The Saints made the official announcement today.
"When we signed Dan, he was committed to making a fresh start, and he was making every effort to rehabilitate the leg injury that he suffered last year," said Coach Sean Payton. "But it wasn't responding as well as he had hoped it would. We wish him well in his continued recovery, and he will be remembered for the excellent player he was during his career."
Morgan played just four games in the last two years because of injuries. He suffered a partial tear of an Achilles tendon in 2007, and he had several concussions.
The Panthers made Morgan the 11th pick in the 2001 NFL draft, and he entered the starting lineup immediately, played well when he was healthy and was chosen to the Pro Bowl following the 2004 season. For his career, he played in 59 regular-season games and missed 53.
The world hates us. With the flyers loss yesterday, it marked 100th straight season that ended for a philadelphia team without a title. Since 1983... wow, we all know it but its still remarkably sad. We are getting media attention as it is on the front page of sports illustrated's website. And we have come close many times, we all remember every heartbreak and embarassment, every bad signing, trade, draft pick, coaching move, bad plays, bad players, and every season that we get close to something, the drought hurts even more. I think the day is coming, but how any times have we said that. :-/ I don't know what to catagorize this post, but all philly sports fans should check out si.com to take years off of their life today. Go Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, Flyers, (idk soul?)
Flyers pulled off a win last night, and now may be getting back their 2 top defenders, timonen and coburn, they still need to play three really tough games to get to the cup, but i'm becoming optimistic, nothing is over until we decide it is, who's with me?
If the Eagles' supposed interest in Randy Moss and Larry Fitzgerald was sincere, it's no secret it feels it needs a more viable threat in the passing game than what is on the current roster. Forget Chad Johnson. The Bengals are playing hardball with him and are not going to deal him and he may be as much trouble as he is worth, and he's worth plenty. Detroit's Roy Williams should be the target. His quotes this past week in which he admitted he thought he was going to be traded before, or during, the draft, speaks volumes. One veteran, who will remain nameless at this time, told me last week his agent told him he could be part of a trade package with Lito Sheppard. So something could still be in the works.
this is a terrible organization, last year they had the second worst record in the league, not because they were the second worst team, but becauseb they sat out any player with an ounce of talent. paul pierce sat out basically the entire year with a bruised pinky toe, and it wasnt because they wanted to play younger players either, they would take out gerald green, jefferson, delonte west, sebastion telfair and ryan gomes whenever it was a close game, then they traded away these young players and the draft pick that was supposed to give them a bright future for a bunch of LOSERS, ray allen, kg and paul pierce couldn't win S#!T before they came together, so they needed each other, lets hope these guys keep losing and keep your fingers crossed for a celdicks loss
We've been reminded in the wake of the news that Colts receiver Marvin Harrison is under investigation for firing seven shots outside his North Philly bar earlier this week that Harrison previously has been the target of allegations reflecting behavior far different from what his image would suggest.
Three years ago, Harrison was sued for "violently and physically attack[ing]" three boys who were seeking his autograph a day before the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.
Harrison allegedly put one of the boys in a choke hold.
There were never any further reports about the lawsuit, which suggests to us that it was quietly settled for a confidential payment.
Who's the last guy in the NFL that you think would be involved in a shooting? Take a minute to write down a name. (And ignore the title to this article in doing so.)
If you wrote down " Marvin Harrison" (and more than a few of you undoubtedly did . . . especially if you weren't able to ignore the title to this article), then you win.
The Italian leg lamp will be arriving tonight.
Harrison, per our friends (except one of them) at WIP radio in Philly, is being investigated for his role in a shooting that occurred Tuesday night outside his North Philadelphia bar.
Harrison was involved in an argument with the victim at the ironically-named "Playmakers" bar. As the victim left and was walking to his car, Harrison was following. Shots rang out, and the victim was struck in the hand. A young girl was struck by broken glass from a car that had been struck by a bullet.
Ballistic tests showed that the bullets came from a custom-made Belgian gun. Harrison owns one of the guns in question.
Questioned about it at a Philadelphia car wash that he owns, Harrison admitted that he owns such a gun, but that it has never left his home.
Later, the gun was found in a bucket at the car wash. Tests revealed that the gun was the same gun involved in the shooting, and that seven bullets were fired at the time.
Folks, Marvin is innocent until proven guilty. But unless there's an autistic cousin (or a dog with a thumb) on whom this thing can be pinned, Harrison's quest for Jerry Rice's all-time records might be derailed by something other than bad knees.
Everybody wrote him off. He was supposed to be gone. Did the eagles do the smart thing? Lito is a pro bowl player, much more valuable than a 2nd to 3rd round pick. So are the eagles gonna have the best cornerback tandem in the nfl or do they have something up their sleeve. They can keep sheppard, i heard he is upset with his contract, but i haven't heard that come from his mouth. We suddenly come back from getting no turnovers, and we have two corners who get a ton of them. So that can happen, or the Eagles think a wide receiver may become available. Maybe they believe that ocho stinko, anquan boldin or roy williams will become available. Eagles now have 2 first round picks and a pro bowl cornerback to offer. I think this is a huge win-win for the eagles and sometimes the best move is the one you don't make.
This video is of my new hero, i don't know his name or have never seen him before in my life, but he is my hero. THIS WAS THE WORSE REFFED GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was clearly a high stick as it hit the top of the crossbar on the way down Also, Richards hit was as clean as anything. FUCK the canadian douchetwat that threw a beer at mike richards. The flyers got robbed and if they lose this series, no matter what fashion, it is 100% the refs fault.
