Real Madrid wins, 4 points ahead of Barca

With Getafe defeated Barcelona 2-0 on Saturday, Real Madrid enters the 12th La Liga match with a chance to extend the lead on top of the table.

From the begining, Real Madrid attacked Mallorca's defense and seemsto have another victory. The match level was very intense and competitive. In the 12th minute, Robinho, the Brazilian star, scored from a header to give Real the lead. Two minutes later, Varela proved that Robinho wasn't the only one when he leveld the score. The battle between the went on between the two stars. Three minutes later, Robinho scored again after a brilliant move, but then Varela once again scored with a beautiful shot from outside the area. It was 2-2 at half time. Real Madrid went to the locker room searching for the answer.

In the second half with the same level, same attitude, both teams want to get a victory. The crown was in shock when Guiza took advantage of Diarra's fault to give Mallorca the lead in the 58th minute. Robinho shined again when he passed a defender with the crossover on the left side, he crossed the ball for Raul Gonzales to level. Mallorca again went forward to search for another goal, but Ruud Vanistelroy scored the winning goal for Real Madrid from a pass by the captain, Raul Gonzales, in the 73rd minute. Neither teams were able to score another goal with their chances.

With 9 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses, Real Madrid stays on top with 28 points, 4 points ahead of Barcelona.

Villarreal could take the second spot from Barcelona if they win against Sevilla later today.
