Hi all! I've been checkin out the Yardbarker scene for a couple months now, just for headlines here and there. I find myself on it quite often so I decided what the hell I'll just sign up. This is my first post as a Barker. Hope it gets some comments! Peace!

Its about time that Reggie Brown shined. I have read numerous articles stating how much Reggie has his head right this offseason, but unfortunately we will how to see how his productivity during the regular season emulates his mindset and work ethic this offseason. If he doesn't have a decent or break-out year I think that the Eagles organization has no choice but put him on the chopping block next offseason. He knows it. We all know it. And I think this is going to be one of his bigger motivations to shine. When you look at it from a statistical viewpoint, he really hasn't been that bad his first couple years amongst receivers in the NFC East, but statistics can only mean so much. I think the two things that Reggie needs to and probably is working on is a) his breakout speed and b) big play capability. In the context of breakout speed, I'm refering to that first few steps off the line of scrimmage. I think he does a good job when corners get in his grill, but this doesn't have to happen all that often. Bump and run scenarios decline when you are that much quicker in the first 5 yards. Lastly, big play capability needs to be there. Reggie tends to disappear in these instances and I think that is what he has seen most criticism coming from. All in all, I believe that Reggie will have a breakout year because he knows he has to. Expect good things from Brown in 2008. I don't see him having a Pro-Bowl type season, but if I had to make a guess I see him getting 1,200 yards and 10 TDs. We will just have to see. Go Birds! Can't wait for this upcoming season!
