Lou Lamoriello has just fired Coach Claude Julien, despite the fact that the Devils are on top of the Atlantic Division. Lou is going to replace Cluade with himself behind the bench. What the hell is going on here? What the hell inspired this move?

Igawa was good out there today. 5 IP O ER, 2H, 3BB. He also overcame 2 Errors, and pitched out of a jam with real ease. His nickname in Japan is Iron Nerves.
Karstens on the other hand, just got rocked the other day when he faced a legitimate, non-minor league roster. With hitters and pitchers coming closer to rounding into form, what happens at the end of Spring Training better correlates with the regular season. But most importantly, this is Spring Training. You wouldn't bench a guy with a proven track record just because of his spring training stats. Come even Mid-April, nobody will remember this Karstens-Igawa dilemma.
If the market value of a mediocre starting pitcher is 10 Mil right now on the Free Agent Market, the Yankees paid about market value. Igawa just has more upside than the remaining FA's.
It's understandable that Yankee fans want to see some home grown talent, but that time will come soon enough with Hughes, Clippard, and Sanchez waiting in the wings.
This isn't a knock on Karstens btw, the guy deserves a roster spot as a long reliever.

ESPN now isn't the same, but if you want to relive the good days, this guy found the NFL Primetime music, and posted it. It'll save you the money from having to buy NFL Films 10 Disc CD Set- "Autumn Thunder."

Great hitter by hitter breakdown of the 2007 Tigers Lineup, should be interesting to see what happens with the development of Marcus Thames and Curtis Granderson, and how many ABs the two of them get. Who wins the AL Central this year? Are the Tigers the favorite to win the AL? Has Zumaya learned the Bass part to Rush's YYZ? Will Pudge Rodriguez Ever Pluck his Eyebrows?

Yeah, Ryan Miller is good, real good, but there's a lot that comes from Goaltending Depth. Even for the remainder of the regular season, Miller is going to need a few days off, better to have a competent backup to keep him fresh.

With Floyd Mayweather Jr. fighting at the welterweight division, the 140 lb divison has a great mix of talent lined up. It is completley up for grabs, and it should be interesting to watch and see if anyone can stay on top in a division this deep and diverse.

You've probably never heard of the Southern Conference unless you're some sort of college basketball freak. This conference apparently has three teams with the mascot Tigers.
I guess there must be a lot of Tigers in the south.

The NHL is not doing enough to crack down on diving. The majority of diving calls are actually reversed by the league office. Great vote of confidence to see the NHL de-legitimizing its own officials, and allowing scoring to be even more inflated. It's sad to see the NHL devolving. A bunch of guys who couldn't even keep the league afloat for a year are changing the rules of a game that has flourished for more than a century.

Rangers won big, 5-0 over the Lightning, in their first game with Avery acclimated to the team. Team has an easy schedule for the next few games so it makes for a nice time for them to pull themselves back into the race. The team certainly has the talent, they were leading the Atlantic before the Devils hit their stride. The Rangers aren't a cup contender, but don't be surprised if they sneak into the playoffs. Oh. And Colton Orr scored his first career goal. Colton Orr.

Lundqvist goes into the 3rd period with a 3-1 lead for the Rangers at home v. Detroit. The goes behing the net 1 on 2, coughs up the puck, and Detroit just skates the puck into the net. He then gives up a 20 mph dribbler, and then a power play goal. Watch the highlights if you want from the yahoo link. The Avery deal and now this have forced me to eat my own head.
