Two of the NL's finest went at it today, as Webb and Peavy toed the rubber in San Diego. The game went to the D-Backs and Webb, but the 2-1 game shows how good the race could become by September.

Cowboys & Bulls = Great Video Compilation

Just sitting here after a few drinks and I happen to come across some PBR actions. I say action like I know what is going on. I dont. Just think these guys are crazy. SO I figured the Yard deserved some carnage.

Enjoy.

NFL running backs that can't get over the hill

Michael Fabiano put together a good piece looking at running backs and age.

"Throughout the history of the NFL, even the best backs have seen their numbers fall once they've reached their 29th and 30th birthdays. Eric Dickerson, Marshall Faulk, Eddie George, Franco Harris and O.J. Simpson are just a few of the names that found pro football life more difficult at an extended age, and their numbers showed that to be true."

Good thing coaches have began going to the 2-back system. Not only do they get fresher legs in the 4th quarter, but careers may get extended.

Fabiano looks at Fred Taylor, Ahman Green, Shaun Alexander, Travis Henry, Edgerrin James, Thomas Jones, LaMont Jordan, Deuce McAllister, Jamal Lewis and LaDainian Tomlinson. All backs that will be 29 years or older.

K-ROD gets paid

So he may have lost the arbitration battle, but Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez still got his money. Asking for $12.5 million throughout the arbitration process, Rodriguez was approached with a contract worth $10 million for the upcoming year, he accepted.

A leaner Molina?

STL's catcher Yadier Molina who is coming off back surgery had a heavy suprise for the Cards. He was 15 lbs lighter. Losing weight and the last name Molina just dont seem to go together. With brother Bengi and Jose breaking scales in their respective clubhouses, seeing a Molina trim up is a welcoming sight.

Not only for the eyes, but for baseball and his own health.

Johan throws 1st pen with Mets, makes some guy's career

In a live bullpen session today, new Mets' ace Johan Santana gave up a bomb to some guy named Salomon Eduardo Manriquez. In fact, Manriquez played Winter Ball with Santana in 2002, and is now one of 5 Venezuelan players (Santana is Venezuelan too) at Mets camp.

For Santana this was a typical day that will be like many other typical days in camp. Live bullpens are the way of Spring Training, for pitchers, well pens and PFPs (pitcher-fielder-practice). How regular was today? Manager Willie Randolph didnt even watch.

Levi, backflips, muff pots and hot doggers

First off, flipping a snow mobile on purpose is crazy but has become a part of the snow moblile world. Here is some insight from winter legend Levi LaVallee who just took the gold at Winter X 12 in the Speed & Style event.

Also check out the video below where Levi searches for the Hot Dogger.
