If the refs don't call it, you must acquit

Despite a spontaneous end-of-game lapse in rebounding skills, my beloved Shock pulled off a win last night. Personally, I'm a little worried by such a small winning margin in a game where the Mercury only shot 35% from field goal range and a dismal 16% from beyond the arc. But I digress.

My real concern this evening ,as I anxiously await tomorrow's game and simultaneously avoid doing anything productive, is the Penny Plenette polemic.

I spent my free hour between Econ and Finance trying to find a clip of the altercation. Heeding Diana Taurasi's postgame request, I intended to review the clip and decide for myself what happened. I found absolutely nothing on the WNBA video page, which to me, reeks of a cover up (but maybe I just like conspiracies).

Of the two relevant videos that I found, one consisted of Taurasi venting to the press and the other; Taurasi engaging in a punch off with Kara Braxton in the paint. The latter has since been removed from the site (COVER UP).

I wonder if I am the only one who sees the irony concerning these two clips. Taurasi wants action taken against Pierson for a slap( which is apparently the same as a punch), yet she is captured doing the exact same thing from at least five different camera angles. Whats more is that there is no disputing that the punch Taurasi threw was intentional. Thus if Pierson goes down, so must Taurasi.

So my advice to Diana Taurasi, should the commissioner approach you regarding the "investigation," is to recant your complaint. Better yet, take a note from Dave Chappelle and plead the one...two...three..four...FIF!
