Note to Red Sox, Yankees, Mets, Cubs, etc.
Keep your hands off of
Hanley Ramirez. Multiple sources are reporting that
Hanley Ramirez will sign a six year deal, believed to be worth $70 million, with the
Florida Marlins. It would be the Marlins biggest financial commitment ever. He is the face of the franchise and most definitely worthy. He won the NL Rookie of the Year in 2006 and last year put up MVP-like numbers (which were better than Jose Reyes and
Jimmy Rollins, thanks for asking). Also factor in that his numbers could be even better if he didn't play in a pitchers park. No matter, Hanley is a beast that anchors an underrated lineup in Miami.
