Tired of this

So for awhile now I've wanted to write about ethics in professional sports but just haven't gotten around to it. Now it almost seems its too late because that's all that seems to be in the news lately. I think the part I don't understand is that athletes make so much money to play a sport but yet ruin their careers by doing something so dumb. For those athletes that work hard and represent their sport with class I thank you.

Why Napoli, Why?

So I was watching the Angels game today and almost lost it when I saw Mike Napolis' new shave. He went from a well groomed beard to 70's trucker mustache. For the entire game every time I would see him I got images in my head of green 77 dodge vans with shag carpet and bean bag chairs. I'm sorry but I find it completely hilarious and can't take him seriously. I'm hoping he lost a bet cuz really that has got to go. Either that or he has to complete the look by growing a mullet.

Almost perfect day in Anaheim

Yesterday had alot of sports going on in Anaheim. It started off early in the day with the Angels who were looking for the sweep against the Twins. In the first part of the game it looked like they even had it. Unfortunately the Twins were able to figure Lackey out and get some hits against him. He pitched well they just were able to hit better. So with the baseball game over the focus moved across Katella to the Ducks. Only one win away from being the first west coast team to have the cup. Now unfortunately I was unable to watch this game due to the fact that TV isn't allowed at work. But I hear it was amazing. I might go down to the Honda center tomorrow for the official cup presentation and to see some of the players and stuff. Could be cool. I wonder if Disneyland is going to give them a parade like they did for the Angels. Its a good sports year here in the OC.

Work Time Boredom

So I'm currently sitting at work bored out of my mind. Yes I'm completely aware that its 10 something at night but I'm here. Either way the point of this is I have come to realize trying to watch a game online with the MLB gameday kinda sucks. Its really slow. I can't do anything more than that since I am at work though. Atleast the Angels won and tomorrow the game is early so I can watch it before I get here. Does anyone have any suggestions for some good online games to keep me occupied? Thank you

only by a little bit

So our softball game on sunday wasn't our best game. We lost by 2 in the last inning. It isn't really a bad loss considering we were only playing with 8 people. We also could have won if it wasn't for the ground roll double rule if the ball makes it to the sidewalk which it got hit to twice. But oh well, it wasn't our worse loss either. Current season is 5-2 with only one game left.

Sunday Softball

My favorite part of the year is softball season at work. I play on a team in a league at work which I think is awesome. Its such a large company that if it wasn't for outside activities there would be people there I would never meet. Softball season is the best though. Its a time where your areas pride is on the line and its a pysical way of showing other areas you're the best. Its just awesome to get out there once a week play a great game, do some trash talking then drink some beers. I'm a little sad cuz it seemed that the season went by too fast but we still have 2 games left. This week against a team we always have fun trash talking with every year. The last game is against the other team from our area. That one will get intense only because these are people we see every day and can go back and say which team is the best.

The best part of this season though has been standing out in right field and being able to see the halo.

Nothing Better

So to me there is no better sight to see, other than being there, than driving down the 57 freeway toward work while listening to the game hearing a home run being hit and then being able to see the fireworks being shot off at the stadium. Like I said being there is so much better but still being able to be part of it is kinda cool. Its not the fireworks that are the fun part, I see those all the time, it almost matches the excitement of being there. Eh don't mind me I enjoy magical experiences and I make them everyday.

Very Superstitious

Generally I'm not the most athlectic girl out there but I do enjoy the outdoors and some good competition. I was a swimmer back in high school which was awesome. I love the water. Recently I've been getting into more sports. I watch baseball almost religiously now and am starting to learn more about hockey. The more I learn the more I find it interesting that each sport has different traditions and superstitions. Like currently in hockey most of the players won't shave. Whereas in swimming some swimmers won't shave for the season and then do it right before finals for the extra boost in speed. So I was just wondering what is the strangest tradition or superstition out there in sports?
