Winless Dolphins

I don't what is more fun to watch, a team going 7-0 or a team going 0-7. Yes we all know that the Patriots are dominant. We expected them to win all those games. Too bad Miami can't even win one. Their future doesn't look to clear either to claim a victory. Next week they play the New York Giants who are absolutely on fire. Their best chance of winning is to beat the Buffalo Bills who I think are absolutely terrible. Then again I thought Baltimore would be a dominant team in the NFL and guess who beats them? Yup, the Buffalo Bills. So perhaps the chances of beating Buffalo are too good for Miami. Then for the rest of the season they have to play Philly, Pitt, the Jets, Buffalo again, Baltimore, New England, and Cincinnati. Sorry Miami but you and maybe St. Louis might not win a game this season.

Well look on the bright side, at least Miami wasn't expected to be a contender. Cleo Lemon is not starting quarterback. I know what your thinking. Cleo who? I know he wasn't even drafted. Now that #2 draft pick Ronnie Brown is out for the season who is going to run for them? I know Ricky Williams hes lightning fast. So is my point getting clear yet? Well it doesn't even matter, because no one can make a case for an 0-7 team. When the Detroit Lions have a better record, you know something is wrong with your team.

Magic In Orlando

The Southeast Division makes me sick. It's a group of mundane teams trying not to get slaughtered. It's like the 16th seed playing the 1 seeds. It just isn't fair. The Washington Wizards can certainly compete. They got 3 solid players. Gilbert Arenas, Caron Butler, and Antwan Jamison. However, Arenas is coming off a left knee surgery and Antwan Jamison is now in his 10th season. That's alot to handle as a big man. Playoff's are possible, but not a guarantee. The Miami Heat won a championship. Congratulations but they have a nebulous future. Obviously Dwayne Wade will carry the load, but who is going to help him? I was never a fan of Shaq daddy and I do not believe he can produce much more. The Diesel doesn't have to many miles left to go. I am not even going to cover the Bobcats and Hawks. Two failing teams that are trying to find their identity.

Only one team left in the Southeast. Let's talk about why the Orlando Magic are on their way to victory. Is is because J.J. Redick is going to finally prove what he can do? Eh, probably not. So lets take a look at who else they got. Dwight Howard is the dominant power forward in the Eastern Conference. Yes, Kevin Garnett is good to but have you see the muscle on Dwight? He had more than 1000 rebounds last season and I look for him to do the same this season. KG only had 975. Scoring isn't a problem for Dwight. 17 points last season and my guess is he will be putting up 20 or more this season. Newly acquired Rashard Lewis is a dangerous threat. He basically can score at will. It all comes down to Jameer Nelson. If he can produce the assist that I think he can, the Orlando Magic should be competing for no less than the 5th seed in the playoffs. Long ways away, but we'll see.

New England Will Crush Dallas

It is Sunday! It isn't the Superbowl yet, but what more could you ask for? Two 5-0 teams going head to head. So who is going to win? Isn't obvious?!?! Let's take a look at Dallas for a moment. Game 1 against the New York Giants. A team who I consider a cupcake team. Dallas gave up 35 points to who I see as a moderate offense for the New York Giants. Week 2 Dallas gave up 20 points to Miami. Miami is a 0-5 team and I really think 20 points is a lot to be giving for their kind of offense. Dallas certainly stepped up in weeks 3 and 4 only allowing 17 points combined. Then we move to week 5 against the Buffalo Bills. When we talk about bad teams Buffalo is the definition of bad teams. If Dallas never of recovered the onside kick, which they shouldn't have, Dallas would be 4-1 loosing to the worst team in the NFL.

Let's move on the those great Patriots. The Pats have already taken down two of the NFL's elite. Which include Cincinnati Bengals and the San Diego Chargers. In all 5 games New England has managed to hold their opponent to 17 points and below. They have out scored their opponents by no less than 17. This New England team is dangerous. They will hurt you in every aspect of the game. Brady will hurt you passing, Maroney and Morris can run it, and their defense will shut you down. You throw in a experienced coach and this team will bring you a whole world of pain.

Tonight the touchdowns will come for Romo and so will the interceptions. Brady will be who Brady has always been and see his open receivers. The defense of Dallas will give up a plethora of points while New England shuts down Dallas. Little does Dallas know, but they are in for a long night.

Boston Celtics Are Back

Kenny Smith from Yahoo Sports gave his NBA pre-season rankings for the Eastern Conference. He ranked Boston as number 1. Anyone would be crazy not to. When Ray Allen first went to the Celtics I knew they would be a playoff contender again. Once Antonie Walker left Paul Pierce was never able to do it by himself. The addiction of Ray Allen was certainly going to take the load off. "I don't have to score as much this year," said Pierce, who led the Celtics with 25 points per game last season. "I don't have to handle all the pressure every night." Allen averaged 26 points last season for Seattle. I thought Ray Ray would be enough to come in and make an impact. Then who comes trotting in? Kevin Garnett! HA! Are you kidding me? A team with three players who average 20+ points. Teams can certainly stop one superstar, maybe two, but no one is going to stop all three. Which makes me agree with Kenny Smith and probably the rest of the world that Boston is back.

GO STATE GO IZZO

It is a Friday night. Some might wonder why am I sitting in my dorm writing a blog? Due you not know what tomorrow is?!?! It is the day the Spartan Basketball fanatics gather to share the passion of Tom Izzo and company. I am not guaranteed to get into the Izzone even if I complete the camp out..bummer! However, that is not the point. I am a dedicated to basketball and to MSU!!! Also Izzone and his boys are suppose to stop in so its a win-win situation. Win-win-win if I get selected into the Izzone. This season should be sensational to say the least. Last year, what I thought was a rebuilding year, turned into a deep NCAA tourney run. This year we got Mr. Basketball Drew Neitzel. My personal favorite, high flyin (no G0), RAYMAR MORGAN, and for my redhead roommate Cameron we got Drew Naymick. With these hoopsters and the support of the Izzone, the Spartans should go undefeated.

Screw You Rex Grossman

I never liked Rex Grossman. I knew sooner or later Lovie Smith would agree with me. What makes people think that Grossman can do it? You think Rex is responsible for thier excellent season and playoff run last year? I remember clearly the day I put $500 on the Colts to smash the Bears in the Superbowl. I knew very well that Rex Grossman would play like Rex Grossman. What does this mean? More interceptions than touchdowns, fewer yards than my ruler, and chocking on third down pressure. Lets recap on last years Superbowl. Rex Grossman was 20/28, had 1 touchdown, and 2 interceptions. I do not care what team your are, but you cannot turn the ball over twice in the Superbowl and expect to win.

Andrew Seligman, AP Sports Writer says, "The 27-year-old Grossman has struggled ever since February's Super Bowl, when he threw two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown. This year, he ranks 24th in the league with 500 yards, has a 45.2 rating and is 47-of-89 (52.8 percent) with six interceptions and just one touchdown"

Brian Griese says that he is excited. His experience obviously outweighs Grossman. I think his dedication as a backup quarterback will get him fired up for this Sunday. Griese is in a great position because he is playing against a flawed team. You know who I am talking about. The Detroit Lions. I am not going to even start with them and their shredded hope.
