Odell Thurman - Possibilty for Eagles?

i didn't see anything about the Eagles and Odell Thurman but what do you think. I personally would love if we would add him b/c if we can keep him "clean" we will have a top D in the NFL. It will automatically solidify the depth and system of the young LB's that we have. On the other side it could be a waste of time and he could get suspended again. What do you all think about him n would you want the Eagles to pick him up?

Review of Eagles Draft....

Here is what the Eagles did in the draft vs what i thought they should've done in the draft... enjoy

Trade 19th overall pick to Carolina for future 1st rounder in 09 and mid rounders in 08 draft... I like this trade b/c i didn't want them to waste a 1st rounder on Otah. I didn't think they needed a OL that early so i was happy to hear that they pulled this trade off. I would've done this as well. GRADE A+

2. Draft Trevor Laws DT Notre Dame - I knew that they were going to pick a defense position before they went WR in the 2nd round b/c the redskins were in between their 2 picks and the redskins already picked Devin Thomas. On the other hand i was a little mad that they picked an undersized DT. We have decent depth at DT and we don't really need one. I would've picked Calais Campbell DE with this pick and i wasn't to happy about this pick even though Laws seems okay. GRADE C

3. Draft DeSean Jackson WR Cal - This was the pick. I was talking about the Eagles draft Limas Sweed for about 3 months now. I though he would be the perfect fit for McNabb and the Eagles. I though that if they weren't going to get Sweed that Hardy would be a good secondary pick and then Kelly. Hardy was gone by that pick so i was looking Sweed all the way. This is the one guy who i didn't want. It's not that he is a terrible player but I think we don't need his style of play b/c we already have Curtis. If we picked up Sweed we would have him n Reggie lined up on the outside and then Curtis as our own Wes Welker. Now we have 2 Wes Welkers and we can only put one of them in the slot. I think the only reason why we picked him was because he can return amazingly. I hated this pick and i dont even care if he becomes Steve Smith Jr. i still don't like it. GRADE D

4. Draft Bryan Smith OLB - WHY? if anything trade the pick. Don't pick a no name in the 4th round of the draft. The next pick was Early Doucet who is a pretty good WR. You also could've gotten a pretty good OL around that area as well as a decent Saftey. There were also better LB's left. I see why they took a LB but i dont get why they picked a no name LB. They should've traded up a little to get Dan Connor instead. GRADE D

5. Draft McGlynn in the 4th round - We dont get Otah but we like McGlynn? This pick wasn't terrible but i wud've traded this pick as well as the 3rd rounder to move up in the 3rd round to get Dan Conner b/c there was a major dropoff in LB after Connor. This was a safe, non-stupid pick. GRADE C+

6. Drafting Demps in the 4th Round - I think this was our best pick in the draft. Demps is a good player and at this time we were in need for some depth in our secondary. I think our CB are fine and i wouldn't trade sheppard. Great Selection GRADE B+

7 Drafting Jack Ikegwuonu CB in the Late 4th Round - Maybe the worst pick of the draft imo. NO 1. He is injured so he can't even play in 08. He is also a Pacman Jones in the making as has been caught stealing a bunch of junk from other people. He is a cancer in the lockerroom and idc how well he plays b/c he cant be that good of a player if he is getting drafted in the 4th round. GRADE F-

8 Drafting Gibson OL from Cal - I don't like this pick for a couple of reasons. Kevin Kolb is a terrible QB and there were many QB's sliding in this draft so i would've taken Andre Woodson with this pick so we actually have somebody in case the FO does the unthinkable and dumps McNabb. Also i think Woodson is a better player than Kolb in general. We have depth at OL but we dont have a future at OL so i think that this doesn't help us in any way. This guy isn't a franchise gem so why add another young benchplayer that doesn't get any game experience. I don't get it. GRADE C

9 Draft Joe Mays in the 6th round - Okay pick here. This guy would help their special teams out immediatley and could become a good part of ST real soon. I would've gotten the best Kick n Punt Returner here instead of gettin DJax if i picked. Good pick though. GRADE B

10 Drafting Andy Studebaker in the 6th round - Any little hope of the Eagles doing something amazing in the draft was done by now so i didnt even care when i saw another no name player drafted by them. I like how he can play OLB as well End. GRADE C+

11 Drafting King Dunlap with their 7th Round Pick - This was a great pick b/c this guy is huge but again all it does is throw young guys on the bench b/c these guys arent franchise changers. I know you aren't gonna get an impact guy in the 7th round so i like this pick. GRADE B

Overall i was really upset with the Eagles Draft, i thought they started off in the right position with that 1st trade but blew it away very quickly. Hopefully we can still pull of a great year and hopefully Carolina does really bad so we get a great pick with their NO 1 Draft pick next year. Im looking for Mike Crabtree or Percy Harvin for us next year so we can finally get that No 1 WR...

Eagles Draft.... Not What I Expected

I think that this draft could have been great in the beggining for the Eagles but it started off very bad considering they got a guy who doesnt have an inch or a pound on me. I wasn't too high on Kelly but id rather have Kelly. I liked Sweed in the 1st round so i was going nuts when they were on the clock in the 2nd and they drafted a midget. They already got the deep threat. I can't believe this. Don't say we need a return man cuz u dont spend a 2nd rounder on a return man unless it wuz hester or something. We couldve gotten a potential Stud WR in the 2nd round in Kelly or Sweed but instead we waste a pick on Djax. Also we got Lorenzo Booker and he can return as well so i dont see what the eagles were thinking. Laws looks decent but we have decent depth in DT and we could've gotten Calais Cambpell n Sweed and we ended up with 2 undersized players.

EAGLES DRAFT.... WHAT I WOULD DO

If they do that trade lito for mark clayton and a 2nd rounder i think they would be in a good position to upgrade the team greatly. This would be my strategy

1. Draft Limas Sweed or James Hardy (Tall n Physical w/ Potential to be the man in Philly.)

We will eventually (1-4 years) have a true No 1. WR with this pick.

2. With our first 2nd rounder we take an OL.

3. With our 2nd 2nd Round Pick we get a Saftey to take over for BDawk

Our WR would be Sweed Reggie Brown, Curtis in the Slot, and then Clayton. We would have a pretty good, young OL and then we would have a decent replacement for Dawkins. 4th round you can go DL or CB depending on what's on the board. What do you think about that...

NFL MOCK DRAFT PICKS 1 -10

Miami Dolphins - Chris Long, DE Virginia

The Fins need everything at this point. I can see them maybe picking up McFadden or trading the pick to the Cowboys (they would pick McFadden.) I could also see them picking Matt Ryan but in the end they will go with C. Long from Virginia. It will be an okay pick because it will be easier to negotiate a contract with him.

2. St. Louis Rams - Jake Long, OT Michigan

Orlando Pace may still have a couple seasons left in him, but he is coming off a serious season-ending injury and he is 32-years old. Long could be moved to the right side where he would have some more time to develop and refine his footwork before taking over at left tackle. Perfect pick for the Rams at this point.

3. Atlanta Falcons - Matt Ryan, QB Boston College

At this point, Harrington is their starting QB and the Falcons are probably not happy with that. He will be the guy that lets Ryan make a smooth transition to the NFL next year.

4. Oakland Raiders - Glenn Dorsey, DT LSU

With the retirement of Warren Sapp, the Raiders are in need of a play-making defensive tackle with the quickness to cause disruptions and collapse the pocket up the middle. Assuming Dorsey checks out medically, he should be the top defensive tackle off the board. McFadden could be a possibility. Dorsey would be a good fit with the physical style of the Raiders. Good replacement for Sapp.

5. Kansas City Chiefs - * Ryan Clady, OT Boise State

The Chiefs' decline on offense can be directly tied to an offensive line that has been picked apart by age. Clady is a very athletic tackle who handles speed rushers well and should be a good fit on the left side in the NFL. Some consider him to be a better left tackle prospect than Michigan's Jake Long. He is a huge linemen that will be a Pro Bowler shortly.

6. New York Jets - *Darren McFadden, RB Arkansa

Despite trading for Thomas Jones following the 2006 season, the Jets would have a hard time letting McFadden – who has a rare combination of speed, balance, and vision -- fall to the division-rival Patriots. This would be the most significant pick in the draft. It would be the headline of the draft. Gholston would be the right pick but in order to mess up the Pats they would nab McFadden if they had the chance.

7. New England Patriots (from San Francisco) - * Vernon Gholston, DE/OLB Ohio State

Gholston's stock is on the rise and he may not be available at this point come draft day. If he is, however, the Patriots shouldn't hesitate to take him. They are desperate for some youth at the linebacking position and Gholston, who would fit in well as a rush linebacker, has the ability to develop into an impact player. One thing that makes me want to change this pick is the Pats don't draft LB with their 1st pick even when they had the chance to. I think he won't be as good as Peterson but better than Bush. His legs are way to skinny. He needs to bulk up QUICK!!

8. Baltimore Ravens - Mike Jenkins, CB South Florida

A future franchise shutdown corner is needed to play the nickel now, step in when either Chris McAlister or Samari Rolle is hurt, and eventually take over as a starter in the future. A pick on the offense side of the ball might happen here too. (maybe even a trade could happen who knows)?

9. Cincinnati Bengals - Sedrick Ellis, DT USC

The Bengals have no one at defensive tackle that commands much respect from opposing offenses. They need a quick powerful tackle who can create an interior pass rush, collapse the pocket, and stop the run. Bengals D is horrible and they need to address many positions on D in order to be sucessful next year.

10. New Orleans Saints - Leodis McKelvin, CB Troy State

The addition of Randall Gay through free agency should be an improvement over Jason David, who was a free-agent disappointment from the 2007 offseason. But the team still needs a youngster who can be groomed into a franchise-type corner. Their D will greatly improve once they get McKlevin since they got Vilma.

Picks 11 - 20 will be posted tomarrow COMMENT on this Mock

EAGLES PERFECT WR FIT - SWEED, KELLY, HARDY?

Everybody has been talking about trading for either Fitz, Holt, or R. Williams but i have always said that the eagles should stop being vaginas and take a risk and draft a WR. I think the perfect fit would be Limas Sweed. It puts him as the redzone threat. It puts Curtis in the slot. (He is better than Welker imagine what he can do when a LB or 3CB covers him!.) It makes Reggie Brown a good target. Hardy is my next favorite option. He is taller than Sweed but not nearly as althletic and fast but he is huge and thats what we need. NO DeSean 3 ft 3 100 lbs Jackson. I weigh more than him n im in 9th grade. Kelly is a mix of speed and size. He is the most skilled out of all 3 WR but in the end i will go nuts if the eagles grow a pair of nuts and draft Sweed. What do you guys think?
