Starting a New Franchise: Darren McFadden or Adrian Peterson?

If you were starting an NFL franchise, would you rather take Adrian Peterson or Darren McFadden as your running back?

This blogger breaks down who he would take and why, after the jump.

The Baltimore Ravens have the Best Defense in the NFL. Period.

This post breaks down the Ravens season to this point, with some statistical analysis. The first five break down the defense. Here's my favorite:

"The one key category the Ravens don't rank first in, points per game allowed, they rank second. That's partly because the Steelers defense scored a touchdown week four and week one the Bengals defense scored a touchdown the same way, on a fumble taken for six. Barring those two touchdowns, the Ravens have held offenses to 3, 10, and 16 points this season. Average: 9.6 points per game. The NFL's best defense allows more than 11."

Al Davis Continues to Destroy Once-Great Franchise

"... it was only a matter of time before Kiffin started winning more games and turning the Raiders into a respectable a team on the field. Then what could Davis do? He'd have to fire a winning coach because he didn't like him. Just imagine the media frenzy; what could people possibly get more upset over? Oh, wait, I know: Davis going out of his way to take personal attacks on Kiffin, releasing letters that he apparently wrote to the coach, and, all-in-all, trying to destroy his character so as to affect the way other owners and football programs look at him."

Day After Review: Quick Notes

This weekend had a few big NFL upsets. Check out what happened as this blog breaks everything down with a boatload of stats and notes

Mike Martz is Brilliant and It's About Time People Appreciate That

The 49ers offense is clicking right now and we all know why: Mike Martz is coaching.

Check out why the guru should be more appreciated after the jump.

Dear Vince Young: Make a Decision

From the article:

There are a lot out there who think he's mentally "soft," that he flat out can't handle the pressures of being a quarterback in the NFL.

What might be the worst part of this recent breakdown is what Young said when he was asked about Aaron Rodgers. Remember, this was before Rodgers had proven anything (from August 27th).

"As a quarterback, you can't worry about everything else that's going on around you," Young said of Rodgers. "All you need to do is go out and play for your teammates and show it's a whole different guy out there, and I want to go out and win ball games with you. I can praise him a whole lot. I'll say he's a man. He's brave, definitely."

Look Ma, No Defense!

The Denver Broncos have the best offense in the NFL this season, and one of the worst defenses to complement it. Can this team make it to a Super Bowl? Analysis is after the jump.

Dallas Beats Green Bay: What We Learned

The Dallas Cowboys beat the Green Bay Packers in the most-hyped game of the week. It was a good game to see how the teams stack up and to see where they are at this point. This blog details what happened in the game and what fans of these two teams can take away.

5 unexpected players getting attention (and lots of it)

There are also a lot of lesser-known players making a significant impact. Here are five I've noticed that could continue to see a lot of success.

5. Fred Jackson - Buffalo Bills - Running Back

Marshawn Lynch is still the team's number one back, but word is that the Bills are trying to incorporate their running backs into the passing game more this season. That was evidenced last week when Jackson snagged seven receptions for 83 yards. He also netted 100 yards on the day.

...

Others include Michael Bush, Eddie Royal, John Carlson, and Darren Sproles.

Player I'd Love to Have: Ricky Williams

"Maybe you're surprised by that headline; don't be."

This article breaks down why Ricky Williams is a win-win fantasy draft pick and, when paired with Ronnie Brown, one of the single best handcuffs available.

Top 8 Undervalued Players I Really Want

This is a list of those players who I think are poised to exceed expectations this season, and are thus undervalued in my opinion. I'd love to make a spot on my roster for these guys because the reward makes the risk worth taking. Oh, and most of these guys are just flat out fun to watch.

List includes Darren McFadden, Jay Cutler, and Marvin Harrison.

Top 8 Players You Shouldn't Draft

From the blog:

"It's all the rage in fantasy football to find the best sleeper, that breakout player no one sees coming. But it's just as important to know the names of some players you shouldn't take a chance on because the risk outweighs the reward.

"This is a list of the top eight players I won't be taking when I'm on the clock later this month unless I can get exceptional value out of them. Take note."

Somewhat surprising list includes Jon Kitna, Wes Welker, and Willie Parker

What Preseason Football Means to Fantasy Football Owners

The games might not matter, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't pay attention. This post delves into what matters (and what doesn't) in preseason football.

Brett Favre vs. Aaron Rodgers in Camp

Brett Favre is returning to Green Bay and will need to earn the starting role again, something he hasn't had to do in well over a decade. Will he win it? Should he win it? This blog examines that.

Pros and Cons - LaDainian Tomlinson vs Adrian Peterson First Overall

Split between drafting Adrian Peterson and LaDainian Tomlinson first overall? This article breaks down the pros and cons of each running back in a very extensive post.
