I'm Back!

What's goin on in the Yard?!?! I know I've been MIA for a while. My bad. It's been pretty hectic since the last time I stopped by. The season was accelerated due to the Olympics and I was focusing on my team. My team; we have not been living up to our own expectations this season. Of course, a huge wrench was thrown into the mix with Big Syl going down with her knee injury. But we finally got her back mid-July for a few games before the break, just to have our point guard, Dominique Canty, go down with HER knee injury. Thankfully, when the season resumes we will have both of them back at full strength. ('Nique just needed to clean out some floaties in her knee) So now we are sitting 3.5 games out of the last playoff spot in the East. I still think we have a good shot at making it. Both Washington and Indiana are having their shares of inconsistencies too, so maybe we can creep up on them!

As for the break...MUCH NEEDED!! I didn't go to a resort or vacation spot. I just chilled with some friends and took my mind off of basketball for a week. I play year-round, as do most of us WNBA-ers, so this down time was right on time! It's back to work in Chicago now. We will spend the break working on our weaknesses and strengthening our strengths so we can make this final push. You can probably catch me and my teammates out in the community since we will be doing a lot of appearances too. Speaking of community, I hosted my very own free basketball clinic on July 27th here in Chicago. Although we didn't have a HUGE Michael Jordan Camp turnout, the kids that attended had a great time! I think they walked away learning something new about the game of basketball, which is most important. I hope to be able to do this again next summer. It was lots of fun and if you don't know: CANDICE LOVES THE KIDS!

Where's that video? Have you learned any new songs lately? I wanna hear you whistle, Lil' Wayne's "lollipop".

Yeah, hopefully when the whole team is back and healthy after the break you guys will win most of the remaining games and make the playoffs! That would be awesome! ...not to mention that Sylvia is really tearin' it up in the Olympic warm-up games over in China so she's defintiely gonna come back stronger and more confident (and with the gold medal, of course!). It's defintiely lookin' good for the Sky :-) Good luck!

Luv your new website, btw.

(Crazy Question) i woul like to know your response to the fight in the WNBA last month. Because ESPN Was sayin crazy talk about Candice Parker fell for the bait, and because shes a rookie thats she couldn't controll her temper. LOL--Now Dupree you no, not to many of us will stay on the ground and let another person stand over you, This is what Pearson was trying to do Parker. Now if Parker didn't react the way she did. I would have been upset with Parker..You just cant let people run over you. What did Parker really do wrong, besides self defense... if i need to post the video,

Hey CandAce

Congratulations on the MVP and ROTY!!

*crickets*

hahaha only kidding :)

CD4, any plans for an update in the yard during this off season? ;)
