MYSTICS PLAYER OF THE GAME

Crystal Langhorne. For most of the game, Langhorne was the only player in double figures for the Mystics. She almost single-handidly brought the Mystics back from a 22 point halftime deficit, slashing to the rim, crashing the offensive glass for second chance opportunities and running the fast break.

THE GOOD

The Mystics faithful. Even while trailing by 30 points at one point in the, the crowd never let up. "Girl Scouts Night" was very similar to a playoff atmosphere...an NBA playoff atmosphere, and it was clearly a factor in the momentum the Mystics gained in their comeback attempt in the second half. By the way, where the heck is the "Energy Squad" during Wizards games?! We could definitely use those "NOISE" and "DEFENSE" signs running across the baseline..

THE BAD

Matee Ajavon. Although my girl Matee came through with a few late 3's (both of which were answered on the subsequent NY possession), Ajavon never found her comfort zone, going 3 for 12 from the field and missing 3 of her 4 free throws.

THE UGLY

The Mystics start. The Mystics just looked flat on both ends of the court from the get go, as New York took a commanding 22 point lead by the end of the first quarter and maintained that same margin at halftime. Although due credit should be given to the Mystics for their phenomenal comeback attempt in the second half (holding the Liberty to only 21 points after they scored 55 in the first half), it's almost a disservice to the team after playing that awful to start the game.
