The Minnesota Lynx can't be good this season. Being good just won't be good enough. After what they did last year, the Lynx need to be great. And it's likely they will be. The Lynx were the WNBA champions last season, and some of them were just getting to know each other. They should be more cohesive this year and, after adding Big East Defensive Player of the Year Devereaux Peters, the third overall pick in the WNBA draft, why shouldn't they be better? Last season, Maya Moore was a rookie. Nobody can complain about the way she played, but you just know she will do more to help the Lynx. At Connecticut, Moore was the best player in college basketball. She has the kind of talent to be recognized as the WNBA's best player. Of course, so do other members of the Lynx. Moore, Seimone Augustus and Lindsay Whalen all are members of the U.S. Olympic team, which means they are three of the very best players in the world. And when you have three of the very best players in the world in the same WNBA lineup, you shouldn't settle for good. And the Lynx won't. They want another WNBA title. And barring anything catastrophic, such as serious injuries to their best players, they'll get another WNBA title.
