Basketball players for generations have employed talking smack to get under opponents' skin. But on Thursday night, Diana Taurasi took the smack to a whole new level. In the fourth quarter of Game 1 of the WNBA Western Conference finals between the Phoenix Mercury and the Minnesota Lynx, the whistle blows after Taurasi throws an arm at Minnesota's Seimone Augustus. The two then went chest to chest . . . then lip to lip . See for yourself. What could be the reasoning for this? According to the announcers, Taurasi and Augustus have been playing one another since before they were teens. The two were also teammates on the gold medal-winning US Olympic team in London. And Taurasi looks to be laughing as soon as she plants the kiss. Nonetheless, Taurasi was assessed a foul on the play . . . as was Augustus. On a side note, the Lynx won the game 85-62.
