Local independent wrestlers and former WWE Women’s Champion Lita were in attendance for a comedy show in Chicago on Wednesday night featuring Colt Cabana and WWE Champion CM Punk. Around 100 fans came out. Punk told a few stories and an improv group later acted out scenes inspired by those stories.
There was also a silent auction of wrestling memorabilia to benefit the Sam Thompson Memorial Fund. Sam was a wrestling fan who died back in June after battling stomach cancer and cystic fibrosis. Some of the merchandise included a Triple H plaque from WrestleMania 2000, a Scotty Goldman jacket plus signed t-shirts from Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler.
