WWE Hall of Famer Dory Funk Jr. and his wife, Marti Funk, lost the lawsuit that was brought against them on March 5, 2012.
Former students of Dory Funk Jr. successfully sued him over conduct that occurred at his professional wrestling school, the Funking Conservatory in Ocala, Florida. The terms in the contract the students had signed in order to train there were breached by the Funks.
Another factor in the lawsuit was that the Funks failed to inform the students that a registered sex offender, Wesley Dockemeyer, is their in-ring trainer. After refusing to refund the students their money, legal action was sought.
Two separate lawsuits from the former students were initially charged against the Funks. Both of these were heard together during the case. At court the judge decided in favor of the students.
A countersuit the Funks issued against the former students was dismissed.
Another lawsuit against the Funking Conservatory is still pending. A former sponsor of the !Bang! TV wrestling promotion that is associated with the school is suing the Funks. The sponsor has claimed that Dory and Marti Funk broke the terms of that contract as well.

- The Ultimate Warrior has threatened Zack Ryder over Twitter for a one-off action figure he made for his Youtube show. The figure has face paint that resembles Warrior’s:
“Having fun with MY UW marks is one thing, violating my TM rights is another,” Warrior wrote. “someone needs to rethink”.

- During a recent interview with the Miami Herald Edge discussed his transition in to acting:
“Wrestling took up the radar for me,” Edge said. “That was always my priority, and if other things fell in my lap, then great. The ‘Highlander’ thing or any other thing that has come into my lap has always been because of WWE and that exposure. Then I got approached to do this movie by WWE and thought, ‘This could be fun. I’ll give it a shot. Why not?’”
“My only real preparation has been WWE, which prepares you to adlib and comedic timing and those things. In respect to being able to think on your feet, I was able to bring that into it.”
“It’s not like I am going to consider myself an actor. I say more power to [The Rock]. I think it was awesome he was able to parlay it and translate it, but I don’t think I would be able to do it at that kind of schedule or want to. I like having my own time and then on the horizon say, ‘OK, I have that in a couple of months. Cool.’ Then I go do it, have some fun with it and be able to go back home.
“I already was lucky enough to do the job that was my passion. Everything I do from here on out is just going to be fun. It’s a good place to be. I’m not going to lie. It’s nice to have the luxury to enjoy everything I’ve done my entire adult life.”

- In his latest JRSBARBQ.com blog, Jim Ross discusses the Celebrity wing of the WWE Hall of Fame. He wrote:
“I’ve always viewed it as a honorary award. It should not be compared to the standard, WWE HOF induction. For example, to ask how Drew Carey can be in the HOF and Randy Savage is not isn’t an extremely bright question. One has zero to do with the other. Comparing celebs and tradition wrestlers/wrestling personalities is like comparing apples to oranges.”
On Future Main Eventers:
“Cody Rhodes and Dolph Ziggler are both evolving nicely. I also think Jack Swagger has unlimited potential. In the territory days, these three would be prime examples of athletes who would earn success for a few years in various territories before being brought to WWE. The system has changed but taking time to evolve hasn’t. Many fans have no patience and many talents don’t put in the extra work in and out of the ring to get to the next level. These talents do and will be main event stars at some point unless injuries or other issues arise.”
