Radio host mocks Foley’s career: Soon to be WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley walked out of an Australian radio interview recently because the host kept mocking his career. Foley was on 6PR 882 News Talk out of Perth, when the host kept insisting that his famous hardcore spots, such as the flaming table bump at WrestleMania 22 were quote “funny”. It seemed the Hardcore Legend had enough and simply walked away from the show. On Twitter he wrote: “Today was the first time I’ve ever walked out on an interview of any kind. Felt pretty good. Pretty, pretty good.” ___________________________________________________________ Impact viewership rises slightly: This week’s episode of TNA Impact Wrestling from Manchester, England, drew a 1.16 rating on Spike TV, with an average audience of 1.58 million viewers, slightly up from the previous week. The show was headlined by Kurt Angle and Mr. Anderson in a steel cage, and featured Garrett Bischoff and Wes Brisco turning on Angle and joining the Aces & Eights. ___________________________________________________________ Ric Flair health update: Wrestling legend Ric Flair has revealed that he’s dealing with septic bursitis in his leg and is seeking medical attention in San Fransisco. As previously reported the Nature Boy had to be replaced by Reid Flair in a big tag match in Japan because doctors thought he had a blood clot and refused to allow him to wrestle. Against medical advice he then flew home, which is extremely dangerous with blood clots and circulation issues. Septic bursitis is a infection of the tissue around joints and can be serious if not treated promptly. Flair will be appearing with his daughter and signing autographs at the February 24th, NXT show in Melbourne, Florida. ___________________________________________________________ Beth Phoenix interview highlights: Arda Ocal (@arda_ocal) of theScore Television Network, Baltimore Sun and Layfield Report (http://www.layfieldreport.com) recently spoke with former WWE Diva Beth Phoenix. Here are the highlights… Has she had the itch to return to professional wrestling yet? “I never wanted to be that person who said, I’ll never come back, I’m retired, I’m done and then in a couple of years get the itch. I haven’t said I’ll never ever be back because I don’t know what opportunity will come up that I’ll find to be really awesome.” The number of divas that have left the WWE in the past year. Is it a coincidence? “I think it just timed out that way because lots of times with the girls there is a window of opportunity and a lot of the girls that left kind of came in at the same time. The women’s division there are so few of us, you can only see me wrestle Kelly so many times.” In her opinion, what made Trish Stratus an icon? “Sometimes people like to remember the controversy, that’s what stands out, but I think I would rather look at the content of someone’s career. She always welcomed whatever kind of physicality that needed to take place in the ring. She was tough as nails, she never complained and worked for what she had and you have to respect that.” Phoenix also discusses giving back to her community and returning to her high school in Elmira, New York, how Edge’s transition to retirement and being in her support system is helping her ability to deal with leaving the WWE, how she feels about the Divas division right now, including NXT, and much more…
