For the night after SummerSlam, Raw averaged 4.3 million viewers. Last week, the show only averaged about 4.11 million viewers. It also scored a 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. Compare this with Monday Night Football preseason action between Pittsburgh and Washington that averaged 5.575 million viewers, and pulled in a 2.1 18-49 rating.
It’s worth noting that Raw viewership always tends to be up post-PPVs. With the added element of John Cena vs Daniel Bryan, and “The Best vs. The Beast,” more viewers undoubtedly tuned in to catch the results of SummerSlam. On the other hand, competition for Monday nights only gets tougher from here on out. Monday Night Football is a ratings juggernaut, and preseason action this week is only a sliver of the total viewers ESPN will capture once the season kicks off on September 9th.
