'They are built to beat us!' Nikola Jokic hails praise for Anthony Edwards’ Timberwolves side after Game 7 defeat

The Minnesota Timberwolves defeated the Denver Nuggets and knocked them out of the NBA playoffs in a thrilling game 7 contest. Despite the Nuggets’ star duo Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray performing well, it was not enough as the Timberwolves made a brilliant comeback to clinch the game in the 4th quarter.

Notably, Jokic shared his views on the poor defeat after the game. Jokic praised the Timberwolves and their star man Anthony Edwards and accepted the defeat gracefully. He also claimed that they are a team that is built to beat his side, the Nuggets.

Jokic has always been vocal about his team’s performance whether it may be good or bad. Furthermore, Nikola Jokic had a stellar outing at the Ball Arena, dropping 34 points, 19 rebounds, and 7 assists but it was not enough to secure the win for his side.

Nearly every analyst, opponent, and NBA fan anticipated the Denver Nuggets to win the NBA championship again this season. They were the favorites throughout the year and for most of the playoffs. Instead, the team failed to make the finals of the Western Conference.

Timberwolves create NBA history against Nuggets in game 7

The Denver Nuggets to everyone’s shock are out of the NBA playoffs, after a poor loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in game 7. On the other hand, the Timberwolves side created NBA history against the Nuggets.

The Timberwolves entered the half down 15 points. Just more than thirty seconds into the third quarter, Nuggets’ Jamal Murray made a three-pointer to increase the lead to 20 points. Minnesota didn’t realize it at the time, but Murray’s shot allowed them to set an NBA record by staging the largest comeback in Game 7 history, eventually winning 98-90.

The Timberwolves’ star players, Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels , and Karl Anthony-Towns were crucial in attack for them in game 7. Edwards dropped 16 points whereas McDaniels and Towns both dropped 23 points each in their historic comeback win against the Nuggets.

In addition, the Timberwolves smashed a record set just weeks ago, when the Cleveland Cavaliers rallied from an 18-point deficit to defeat the Orlando Magic 106-94 in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Playoffs first round. Ultimately, the record lasted only 14 days.
