Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is back in Las Vegas for Cinco de Mayo weekend, which has become commonplace throughout his illustrious career thus far.

Alvarez, 33, (60-2-2, 39 KOs) has been a fixture of the Hispanic boxing scene for over a decade as he attempts to keep his winning streak intact against the 27-year-old Jaime Munguia, who enters the fight a perfect 43-0 (34 KOs).

The bout will be contested at the T-Mobile Arena, as the pair will compete for Alvarez's super middleweight championship, one of his many accolades.

Alvarez said he is excited to compete in front of a pro-Mexican crowd, especially against someone as motivated as Munguia.

“I’m very proud and excited to be able to make this fight,” Canelo said in a statement issued from the PBC Monday afternoon. “A Mexican versus another Mexican is always a huge fight and it’s been a while since there’s been one like this. It’s great to give an opportunity like this to a fighter that’s earned it like Jaime has. It gives me a lot of joy that two Mexicans will be facing each other in such a big fight for the sport."

Munguia said the challenge of facing someone with a pedigree as good as Alvarez's motivates him to give his best performance.

“I’m very, very happy and filled with enthusiasm for this great opportunity,” Munguia said in a statement from the PBC. “I’m incredibly grateful to everyone involved who were able to make this fight a reality. We are ready to give fans a great night of boxing on Saturday, May 4. I can’t wait to demonstrate to the world that I am capable of doing great things. Viva Tijuana and Viva México!”

The event will air on pay-per-view through Amazon Prime Video, which PBC partners with, and DAZN's global streaming service.

Pre-sale tickets will be released at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT and close at 1 a.m. ET/10 p.m. PT through AXS.com. Use the promo code "PBC" at checkout.

As for the public, tickets go on sale Friday at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT.
