Former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr (28-1, 22 KOs) has once again popped up on social media, specifically X, to let his fans know that he will be heading to Las Vegas, NV, for Saturday’s Tim Tszyu vs Sebastian Fundora event. Although he will be a spectator, the point of the trip is to get a ringside view of the main event, specifically of the person who comes out on top.

Spence on X posted, “Headed to Vegas. I want the winner!!”. It’s a coincidence that Spence should post this as Tszyu’s manager, Glen Jennings, was a guest on Tha Boxing Voice just a day ago, and he stated that they would consider vacating the WBO title to make the Spence fight. Jennings would then follow it up by saying he would prefer to get more into it on Monday after Saturday’s fight.

Last week, the WBO revealed that undisputed welterweight champion Terence Crawford had requested to use his super champion status to challenge for Tszyu’s junior middleweight title. Afterward, FightsATW was on a Zoom with Tszyu, where he was asked about the whole situation with Crawford and the WBO. To that topic, Tszyu said, “Beautiful. That’s every fighter’s dream, I guess, to fight on the biggest stage of them all. Now, the dream is to unify. I am happy that the fight is for the WBC & WBO belt.”

Meanwhile, Spence has been on the shelf since Crawford brutally stopped him in July. There was a rematch clause that Spence chose to exercise, but the time ended up running out when the fight could not be put together due to Spence having surgery on his eye. There were no plans for Spence, who looked to be out until at least the summer when he reappeared with this post about facing the winner next.

This weekend’s results will start an interesting domino effect within the junior middleweight division. The stakes are even higher, with Spence and Crawford battling for the opportunity to be next.
