Ryan Garcia calls for fight with Gervonta 'Tank' Davis after knockout of Javier Fortuna

Ryan Garcia was dominant against Javier Fortuna on Saturday night, knocking down his opponent in rounds four, five and six. The last of those knockdowns put Fortuna on a knee from which he didn't get back up, improving Garcia's career record to 23-0 with 19 knockouts.

After the impressive victory, Garcia immediately called for a matchup against Gervonta "Tank" Davis.

"I'm not going back down to 135 [pounds] for nothing, but I will fight 'Tank' next," Garcia said, via ESPN. "If 'Tank' wants it at 140 ... let's get it."

Garcia, 23, previously fought at super featherweight (130 pounds) and lightweight (135), earning titles that included a WBC interim lightweight belt. His last two bouts have been contested at super lightweight (140), where he says he's much more comfortable.

Still, Garcia is sixth in ESPN's lightweight rankings, four spots ahead of 10th ranked Fortuna and three spots behind third ranked Davis.

Davis, 27, improved to 27-0 in May with a knockout victory against Rolando Romero. It was the 25th knockout of Davis' career and he currently reigns as the WBA (Regular) lightweight champion. Garcia was ringside for the Davis-Romero bout and made a $20,000 bet that Romero would hand Davis his first loss.
