Fight recap

The clash began with Lipinets coming forward and Davies fighting off the back foot. Both men utilised the jab in an attempt to assert their style in the opening round. Davies’ nose was bloodied in the second as the two fighters started to open up. Towards the end of the third, Lipinets was stunned by a left hook. Despite Davies unloading, the Kazakh was able to stay on his feet until the end of the round.

Lipinets was stunned yet again by a left hook in the fourth, allowing Davies to land almost at will. In round five, the Englishman was stunned by a right hook, sending him on the retreat. Two overhand rights allowed Lipinets to send his opponent to the canvas. A lot of blood was pouring from the mouth and nose of Davies by this point.

In a wild round eight, Davies went down from a left hook to the body with over two minutes to go. Lipinets scored another knock down not long after with an overhand right. With less than 40 seconds left in the round, Davies wobbled his opponent with a left hook, but Lipinets was able to stay standing.

The last two rounds saw the Kazakh mostly outboxing Davies. Though Lipinets was visibly stunned in three different rounds, the knockdowns and his overall boxing ability helped him get the decision. He returns to the win column with the victory and will likely get a good opportunity in his next fight.
