Tyson Fury (34-2-1, 24 KOs) declared his retirement from boxing in January following his rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk. However, considering his history of backtracking on such decisions, the boxing world viewed the announcement skeptically.
He has recently shared a brief video from the gym, training with SugarHill Steward. Pointing the camera towards Steward, Fury said, "Just in the gym. Happened to bump into somebody you might know.”
"You know what time it is," Steward said, then Fury replied, "You know what's coming."
No one would be surprised if Fury announced his return to boxing. He is passionate about the sport, and the structure of training camps benefits his mental health. There is also strong fan demand for a long-awaited clash with Anthony Joshua—a fight that could become one of the biggest in British boxing history.
Following his split with trainer Ben Davison in December 2019, Fury joined forces with SugarHill Steward ahead of his rematch with Deontay Wilder in 2020, a pivotal bout that marked his resurgence at the top of the heavyweight scene.
Alongside Steward, Fury secured consecutive wins over Wilder before going on to beat Dillian Whyte, Derek Chisora, and Francis Ngannou, which led to his undisputed heavyweight showdown with Usyk.
At 36, Fury remains relatively young by today’s heavyweight standards, with Usyk being the only man to have defeated him. While a trilogy bout with Usyk seems improbable, Fury could still return to face either Joshua or Dubois—should Dubois emerge victorious at Wembley in July.
