Caleb Plant produced a knockout-of-the-year contender against Anthony Dirrell before being tackled by the referee for his celebration.

Plant, whose only defeat in his professional boxing career came against Canelo Alvarez, is working his way back into world title contention after losing his IBF super middleweight belt.

Knocking out Anthony Dirrell, who was talking a LOT in the build-up, will do Plant no harm as he looks to ascend back to the top of the boxing world.

What a knockout it was too, with Plant showing world-class timing, speed and power to catch Dirrell with a left hook and leave him seeing stars on the canvas.

Plant had no sympathy for Dirrell in the immediate aftermath, either. Plenty was said in the prelude and it appears as though Plant held a grudge against his opponent.

As Dirrell lay on the floor, tended to by the medics, Plant did the ‘gravedigger’ celebration in the ring, which the referee clearly was not impressed with. This is savage…
