The Montreal Alouettes are focused on 2024 and making sure they keep the core together from their Grey Cup-winning squad. The Alouettes have re-signed almost 20 players to the roster already.

Earlier this week, Montreal rewarded coach Jason Maas and general manager Danny Maciocia with contract extensions. The Als announced Thursday they are bringing back the whole coaching staff for the 2024 season.

Here is the coaching staff for 2024:

  • Jason Maas – Head Coach
  • Byron Archambault – Assistant Head Coach and Special Teams Coordinator
  • Anthony Calvillo – Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach
  • Noel Thorpe – Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach
  • Luc Brodeur-Jourdain – Offensive Line Coach
  • Michael Lionello – Receivers Coach and Pass Game Coordinator
  • Dave Jackson – Running Backs Coach
  • Greg Quick – Linebackers Coach
  • Corvey Irvin – Defensive Line Coach
  • Chandler Jones – Assistant Defensive Backs Coach
  • David Brown – Offensive Line Assistant

Maas joined the Alouettes in 2023 after a four-year run as Edmonton’s coach from 2016-19. In four seasons, Maas went 39-33 making the playoffs three times.

After two seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders as their offensive coordinator, Maas took over as coach for Montreal this past season. The Alouettes finished with an 11-7 record and second place in the East Division. Montreal ran the table winning three straight playoff games, capped by a 28-24 victory over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Grey Cup.

The coaching staff is filled with experience, including offensive coordinator Anthony Calvillo who was the quarterback for Montreal the last time they won the Grey Cup in 2010. Defensive coordinator Noel Thorpe has been with the Als on and off since 2002.

Now with the key pieces in place for 2024, the question comes as to whether Montreal can put it all together again and repeat as Grey Cup champions.
