Bo Levi Mitchell has a restructured contract with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, according to TSN’s Dave Naylor.

Mitchell signed a three-year contract paying him $500,000 per year, including incentives, during last offseason. TSN’s Farhan Lalji reported the deal is worth $225,000 in hard money, including a $50,000 signing bonus. Incentives include $72,000 in playing time and up to $15,000 in performance incentives.

Despite frustrations over a lack of playing time in the playoffs last season, Mitchell told CHCH Morning Live’s Tim Bolen last month that he wanted to return to Hamilton.

The 33-year-old quarterback struggled through injuries and played in six games in 2023. He had 1,031 yards with six touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Mitchell played the previous 10 seasons with the Calgary Stampeders. He threw for 33,572 yards with 194 touchdowns to 99 interceptions with Calgary. He led the Stampeders to two Grey Cup championships and twice won the CFL Most Outstanding Player Award. He was also named a CFL All-Star twice.

Hamilton has two quarterbacks who are pending free agents in Kai Locksley and Matthew Shiltz. Taylor Powell is also on the roster, with the quarterback competition most likely to be between Mitchell, Shiltz, and Powell.
