Watch: Florida runs into two outs at home plate vs. Texas Tech

The Florida Gators did the near impossible Sunday in the Gainesville Regional Finals of the Division I baseball tournament against Texas Tech.

In the top of the sixth of a scoreless game, several gaffes on the basepaths by the Gators led to two outs at home plate on the same play.

Kevin Bazzell fielded a sharp Wyatt Langford grounder at third, throwing Cade Kurland out at home. After catching Langford in a run-down between first and second, Texas Tech nailed Richie Shiekofer at home for the highly unusual 5-2-4-3-2 double play.

Luckily for the Gators, they were able to shrug off their baserunning blunders. Despite making two outs in a blink of an eye, Florida rallied, scoring four runs in the sixth en route to a 7-1 victory over the Red Raiders.

One perpetrator, Langford, would redeem himself later in the game. The outfielder was one of two Gators to finish with two RBI, joining fellow outfielder Tyler Shelnut.

Florida opened the regional as the No. 1 seed but fell to the Red Raiders, 6-5, on Saturday, needing to defeat UConn in an elimination game earlier on Sunday to stay alive.

Following Sunday's win by the Gators, Florida and Texas Tech will match up again for a decisive Game 7 to decide who will move on in the D-I bracket.
