Successfully stealing a base usually takes top-tier speed and reaction time from the baserunner and, most of the time, an inaccurate throw from the catcher. But what Peyton Chatagnier did Wednesday night? That was the product of simply keeping your head up.

Chatagnier stole not one, not two, but three bases on one play during Ole Miss' game against Alcorn State. The sequence in question came in the bottom of the second inning.

After walking and coming around to score in the first inning, Chatagnier drew another free pass in the second inning with one out. Alcorn State pitcher Jamaal Green got TJ McCants to fly out to left for the second out, then threw a first pitch ball to Jacob Gonzalez.

Green then came set before turning to throw down to first as Chatagnier drew a lead. Chatagnier broke early, and Alcorn State appeared to have him cooked. The throw to second was high, though, and Chatagnier slid in safely. He stood up and brushed some dirt off before realizing nobody was covering third base, so he took off.

Chatagnier raced his way across the infield and slid in head first as the Alcorn State catcher covered the base, but couldn't get the tag down in time. Chatagnier stood up and realized once again the base ahead of him was left uncovered. He took off down the third base line and slid in to score, though that was more out of exhaustion than a close play at the plate as the catcher didn't even bother with a throw.

The heads-up play put Ole Miss up 4-1, a lead they would only build on as time went on. The Rebels were 10-1 on the season going into Wednesday.
