Alabama State names former NBA All-Star Mo Williams new head coach
On Tuesday afternoon, the Alabama State Hornets introduced former NBA guard Mo Williams as the program's next basketball head coach.
Williams played in the NBA from 2003 through the spring of 2016, and the one-time All-Star (2009), who tallied over 10,000 career regular-season points, was part of the Cleveland Cavaliers team that rallied from a 3-1 series deficit versus the Golden State Warriors to win the '16 NBA Finals.
As noted by ESPN, Williams spent the last two college basketball seasons as an assistant at California State University at Northridge. Per Charlie Potter of 247 Sports, the Madators led the Big West in scoring those two years, and the program also set multiple records with Williams on the bench.
