Bob Huggins' daughter has harsh words for WVU president and board

Jacque Huggins, the daughter of former West Virginia basketball coach Bob Huggins, called university president Gordon Gee and its board "cowards" and "backstabbers" in a Facebook post for turning their backs on her father.

Huggins resigned as head coach of the men's basketball program on Saturday night following an arrest for a DUI in Pittsburgh on Friday night.

Huggins had previously had a DUI back in 2004 when he was coaching at the University of Cincinnati.

According to the police report, Huggins had garbage bags full of beer cans in his car and did not know what city he was in, repeatedly claiming to be in Columbus. Police initially found his car disabled in the middle of the road with a shredded tire. When he was unable to move the car off to the side of the road, he was given a field sobriety test that he did not pass.

In the Facebook post from his daughter, she claims that Huggins had offered to go to rehab for 60 days in order to keep his job but that the school declined that offer. She urged the board to "be better and do better."

Given the police report, it seems that Huggins definitely needs some help and is now hopefully in a position to get it.

But the university was also put into a brutal situation by Huggins.

It was only a couple of months ago that Huggins was suspended and had his salary reduced by $1 million after he went on a Cincinnati radio show and spouted off several homophobic slurs. There was a push for Huggins to lose his job at that moment, but West Virginia decided to give him a second chance with the hope that all of that would eventually blow over.

Instead, he followed that up by doing this. Huggins coached West Virginia since the 2007 season.
