Purdue guard Carsen Edwards is entering the 2019 NBA Draft and signing with an agent.

Edwards made the announcement Sunday by posting a statement to his Twitter account.

Edwards’ decision does not come as a major surprise. He was Purdue’s most important player this season, averaging 24.3 points per game. His stock is as high as it’s ever been after a dominant NCAA Tournament that became the talk of college basketball, especially in his losing effort against the Virginia Cavaliers.

It remains to be seen where Edwards’ draft stock stands. He was not regarded as a likely first-round pick before the tournament began, but his series of incredible performances could be enough to push him into contention.
