EVANSTON, Ill. – Throughout Wednesday's game between No. 14 Indiana and Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena, Northwestern fans chanted, "F--- you, Miller."

Miller Kopp played three seasons for coach Chris Collins at Northwestern, where he where he started 74 games and averaged 9.6 points. As a sophomore, Kopp led the Wildcats with 13.1 points per game on 39.6 percent 3-point shooting.

After Northwestern finished 14th, 13th and 12th in the Big Ten from 2018-21, Kopp transferred to Indiana before the 2021-22 season when Mike Woodson became head coach.

Kopp is shooting 44.7 percent from 3-point range this season, but on Wednesday at Northwestern, he scored three points on 1-for-6 shooting with six rebounds. After Northwestern's 64-62 win over Indiana, Collins commented on the vulgar chants directed at Kopp.

"I didn't like it," Collins said. "Didn't like it. I'm not a big fan of that. It's not something I condone."

"To me, first of all, Miller is a part of our family," Collins continued. "It was not a contentious thing. I love Miller. He gave us three great years. I'll be forever indebted to what he brought to the program. He knows there's no bigger fan of him than me."

"I would have liked it to be a little bit more cheer for us. I'm always big on that. It was so loud. I mean, I wish I had the power to kind of tell everybody to stop. I wasn't a fan of that because, first of all the way I feel about Miller and what he was to this program. But I'm not a big believer in that. Cheer loud for us."

"We were super loud. Down the stretch, our fans were amazing and it was towards us. It wasn't directed toward the other team. So obviously it wasn't something that I was a fan of and something I wish wouldn't have happened."
