The injury bug continues to plague Oregon as Mookie Cook may be out for the rest of the season according to Oregon head coach Dana Altman.

Altman said Cook would “probably not” play for the remainder of the season.

“He’s gonna see a specialist when we’re in LA,” Altman said Tuesday. “He’s really got some soreness, we’ve done some tests and it doesn’t look like a re-injury or anything like that.”

The freshman forward has only played five games this season after recovering from an offseason foot injury and he’s since been out for two games after the Ducks played Utah on the road.

Cook made his season debut after missing the first 13 games of the season, earlier this month against Washington and scored six points and had three rebounds, two steals and an assist in his five games of action.

“He’s been out so long,” Altman said. “We’re down to six, seven weeks whatever we got left, but it doesn’t look good.

Along with Keeshawn Barthelemy’s injury, the Ducks have now potentially lost two players for the rest of the season.

The 6-foot-6, 210-pound forward was a 4-star prospect (a 0.9886 rating according to the 247Sports composite) out of Chandler, Arizona.

Oregon has two upcoming road games in Los Angeles against USC and UCLA, where they’ll take the opportunity to have Cook see a specialist for his foot.
